    Week 9: Bengals(7) @ Steelers(17)

Steelers Defense Comes Up Big At Home.

After giving up 30+ points in a three game stretch earlier in the season, the Steelers defense was looking for answers. After a change in philosphy this squad has made a complete 180 degree turn. The Bengals came into Pittsburgh for this huge divisional matchup with first place going to the victor.

Steelers defense picked up where they left off in Week 7 & 8 and only allowed one score. The 4th quarter TD by the Bengals was the first TD allowed in 11 plus quarters. This defense on average has given up 4.3 pts per game in it last 3 matchups.(y)

The first half of this game was dominated by defense as both coaches tried to find rythym in their playcalling. Steelers get on the board first as their defense sets them up deep in Bengals territory after a huge turnover. QB Kerry Collins manages a first down and FB Mike Tolber would punch it in for 2 yds out.

    First Half

The third quarter was a mirror image of the first half as both teams offenses turn the ball over and struggle maintaining drives.

    Third Quarter

The final period begins with a 4yd pass from QB Carson Palmer to Rookie WR Brandon Sims on a 4th down play. The Steelers would answer back quickly as HB Willie Parker would take a pitch left and behind great WR blocking,he scoots down the sideline for the 68yd TD run.Steelers would tack on a Jeff Reed FG and eventually seal the game with an Int. by rookie FS Juaran Parker.

    Final Score

Great game Droweezy, your defense played great. My defense just seems to always force turnovers at the right times.I look forward to our rematch in Cincy.
