    Week 9: Lions 38, Bears 35

Lions win a thriller over their division rival Bears. I've got a class to go to right now, but i'll write a full recap later today. Great game chrisdstan.

What a game. The Lions received the opening kickoff and advanced to the 30 yard line, then let Aaron Brown loose for a 70 yard TD on the first play from scrimmage to set the tone for the rest of the game. Chicago would answer with a TD of their own, Lorenzo Redmond pounding it in from 6 yards to tie the game at 7-7 after one quarter.

Detroit would own the second quarter, scoring 21 points mostly due to the super accurate passing of Matthew Stafford. LT Ephraim Salaam even scored the first TD of his career on a 2 yard catch with 4 second remaining in the half. The Bears score came on a Devin Hester 97 yard kick return, which prompted the Lions to mostly squib kick the rest of the day.

The Lions would kick the first FG of the day to extend the lead to 31-14 at three quarter time, and looked to have the game wrapped up. But this one was far from over.

21 unanswered points in a span of just 2:13 incredibly put the Bears in the lead, with Jay Cutler first throwing 2 TD passes and then CB Zackary Bowman recovering a fumble and taking it to the house with 3:50 left to play. But the Lions showed all heart in marching back down the field and, despite losing star TE Brandon Pettigrew to a season ending injury during the drive, managed to score the game winning TD to steal back the win, 38-35.

The two QB's were both outstanding, combining to throw for 552 yards, 5 TD's and only 1 interception and completing 34/43 passed. But unheralded HB Aaron Brown was the MVP of the game, running for 154 yards and 2 TD's on 22 carries.
