Rams Escape the Desert with WBeat Cardinals 27-17 Phoenix, Arizona This game has been circled by both teams since the schedules were announced. Both teams stood in each others way in their march towards the division crown, and tonight, act 1 took place in Arizona with the Rams riding their luck and getting the all important W. Arizona won the toss and elected to receive, and made quick work of the Rams defense, as Kolb found Fitzgerald WIDE OPEN for a 28 yard TD 90 seconds into the game, 6-0 Zona after the missed XP. The Rams answered back with the use of their pass game for the most part, before FB Brit Miller took it in from a yard out, 7-6 Rams after 1 quarter. The Cardinals added a field goal with 2:44 left in the half to make it 9-7 Zona, before they simply collapsed for the remainder of the half. First, Bradford found Avery for a 66 yard touchdown with 1:25 left in the half, and as Arizona tried to respond, Kolb threw an ill-advised ball right to Al Harris, who set the Rams up in Cards' territory before Bradford was able to find Lance Kendricks from 5 yards out with 12 seconds left in the half after excellent work from Steven Jackson in the run game. That last minute lapse in concentration for the Cardinals was really the story of the game as the Rams rattled off 14 points to end the half. The 2nd half was quiet for the most part, as other than a great 37 yard run by Beanie Wells, both offenses were held out of the endzone with the Rams tacking on 2 FGs to keep the Cardinals' from mounting a comeback. 27-17 was the final as the Rams look forward to the rematch in St. Louis in a couple weeks time.
