#20 Cal 31 - Wash 21
after a 3-9 season sweeping changes in Berkeley were over due... out Jeff Tedford in Sonny Dykes as expected the staff and schemes have come with its highs and lows but with the win Saturday over the Huskies the Bears have 6 wins and are bowl eligible
once again the California Golden Bears traveled north and were welcomed by wet rainy game time weather but that did not faze them at all and Golden Bears get a much needed win.
both teams struggled in the first quarter ... neither team able to score but the second quarter was different story . OC Tony Franklin mentioned last week about true freshman Jared Goff getting reps with the 1's at practice during the week, well apparently that was enough fire for RS Fr Zack Kline to come alive and manage the game which he did after some 1st qtr misses ... "if Zack can play like this we have a chance to win every game we play" said tony franklin
sonny dykes said the defense had some struggles from the end of 2nd qtr to the beginning of 4th but lucky the offense lead by a health running game and great game management resulted in a lead that the dawgs just could not overcome
mcclure got his 2nd pick late in the 4th quarter to ice the win
numbers on the day
Zack Kline 13-18 220 yds plus 7 rushes for 57 yrds

Brendan Bigelow 12 -47 2 tds
Stephan McClure 4 tkls 1 asst 1 tfl 2 INTs
Nick Forbes 6 tkls 1 tfl
Chris McCain 5 tkls
Kam Jackson 1 INT
Next up Arizona at home ... both teams are coming off wins and will be trying to finish the season strong
Vanderbilt vs Texas A&M
With the release of the 1st BCS polls of the season, #1 Texas A&M hosted Vanderbilt in week 9. The Aggies continued their great defensive play as of late and almost shut out Vanderbilt as they held them to only a 4th Quarter TD. Their offense was again led by the HB Ben Malena scoring 3 TDs and tying the Aggies school's rushing TD record with 21, which Johnny Manziel set last year in the process. His backup Trey Williams also scored 2 TDs as the Aggies rolled to a 52-7 domination of the Commodores.
Player of the Game again was Ben Malena rushing for 173 yards and 3 TDs. Trey Williams also ran for 82 yards and 2 TDs. Brandon Williams also got his 2nd punt return for TD with an 87 yards return in the 3rd Quarter.
I think Melena is going to hoist the Heisman at the end of the year
anything can happen, just hoping he don't get injured
Advance will be sometime around 7 cst
