Raiders Run Through Buccaneers for 4th Straight Win 45-21

The Oakland Raiders are now streaking and continued their focus to stay on pace with the 1st place San Diego Chargers. The point output for the Raiders have been down the last two weeks due to facing tough defense and expected the same this week against the Buccaneers.

The Raiders game plan was to continue to establish the run as they have done throughout the season with 2nd leading rusher in the league Darren McFadden. McFadden did just that as he broke off a 75 yard TD run on the Raiders 2nd possession to put the Raiders up 7-0. McFadden took the hand off and ran over the Bucs defender and with the help of WR blocks downfield, scampered his way to his 8th TD of the season. The Bucs looked to respond and did so by moving into Raiders terriroty, but as the Raiders have done all year with their bend but don’t break defense, Demarcus Van Dyke picked off his 5th ball this season and returned it 70+ yards for a TD score and just like that, it was 14-0. This was a deflating possession as the Bucs were able to drive down the field, but ended up a pick six the other way, but still, it did deter Freeman as he responded with a nice throw to Vjax who broke a tackle and ran his way for a big TD score to bring the game closer at 14-7. Then everything the flood dams broke and the Raiders capitalized on the Bucs defense and causing turnovers of their own.

The Raiders responded with another drive by Palmer and hit Terrell Owens for a 36 yard TD score to get the Raiders back up by two TDs. The Raiders defense played tough stopping the run and forcing turnovers on Freeman and took advantage of field position throughout the game. Palmer struck again with a TD pass to DHB for 40+ yards and within a few minutes the score was 28-7. Palmer threw for 2 TDs in the 1st half and threw only six passes throughout the game after building a huge lead. Both teams added another score before half with the half time score 35-14.

The Raiders looked to kill the momentum for the Bucs to open the 2nd half after the bucs scored right before halftime. They did so one the very first play of the 3rd quarter with McFadden going right up the gut untouched for an 80 yards score and essentially putting the game away. McFadden rushed only 9 times for an outstanding 196 yards and two TDs and the two TD runs were from 75 and 80 yards and broke the century mark in rushing for the season. The defense forced 5 Ints on Freeman of which two were returned for TDs in addition to sacking Freeman 3 times.

The Raiders are firing on all cylanders with a 4th straight win
