    Week 9: Washington (32) Detroit (42)

    Lions Continue Streak!

After a well timed bye week the Lions came out strong as they scored on their first 5 drives and had a kick return touchdown. The Redskins moved fairly well down the field but could only get field goals out of their drives in the first half, but they did end on a bright note as Santana Moss returned a kick off on the last play before half time.

Matthew Stafford had a great game today going 16-19 for 246 yards and 3 TDs. He was striking on all cylinders as he found receivers open around the field and sealed the game up with a strike to Calvin Johnson to run the clock out. Jason Campbell had a great game too going 17-28 for 239 yards and a touchdown. Campbell just couldn't be stopped in the second half as he drove the Redskins down to score two touchdowns in the final quarter. Unfortunately Campbell had some difficulty in the first half which might of cost the Redskins the game as there were zero turnovers.

On the ground the lions had a great game as they plowed the field for 179 yards and two touchdowns. Lorenzo Booker contributed to half of these yards as he racked up 102 yards and a touchdown while Aaron Brown had 67 yards and a TD. On the other side of the field the Redskins were getting injured very frequently resulting in Brandon Jacobs having 4 carries for -2 yards. The big story for the Redskins was the solid running by J.Davis as he ran 13 times for 69 yards, but he did manage to score 2 TDs which makes for a pretty good stat line.

In the receiving game Calvin Johnson put up another great game as he had 7 receptions for 152 yards and a TD with Reggie Wayne in a close second with 5 receptions for 57 yards and a TD. On the Redskins side their best receiver houshmanzadeh only had two receptions, both which came in the second half, but Hightower did manage to step it up for the Skin's receiving game as he scored a touchdown. TE Stevens was also having a great game as he was getting some big separation from the Lions linebackers and made some good plays.
