    Week 9

    Raiders 34 Bears 28

Bears defense picked off a Russell pass to set up their offense. RB O.Gardner would run it in from 15 yds out to give the Bears an early 7-0 lead.

Raiders offense gets going in the 2nd. First, Russell would hit TE Z.Miller from 7 yds out to tie the game. Later in the 2nd Russell would find McFadden out in the flats and he would take it 47 yds to give the Raiders the lead, 14-7. Raiders would add 3 more points when Janokowski hit from 44 yds out right before half to give Raiders 17-7 halftime lead.

Bears start the scoring in the 2nd half with a 3yd TD run by M.Forte. Raiders would answer with a 2 yd TD run by M.Bush. Seconds later, the Bears D.Hester would run the kick-off back 108 yds for another Bears TD. Not to be out done, Raiders KR M.Lee would take the ensuing kick 99 yds for a Raiders TD. Back-to-Back kick-returns for TDs...unreal..wow.

Bears would cut into the Raiders lead with a 1 yd TD run by M.Forte early in the 4th. Raiders could only answer that score with another FG from Janokowski to put the Raiders up by 6 with about 1 minute to go. Bears come out in 3-wide formation and the Raiders elect to come out with 6-DBs to try and protect from the pass. Bears found the holes and quickly and efficiently drove the length of the field. Bears would get the ball all the way down to the Raiders 5 yd line. On first and goal the Raiders almost picked off the attempted pass. On 2nd and goal, Raiders FS T.Branch sealed the game when he did pick off the pass in the end-zone. Raiders took 1 final kneel to escape with a close win.

The Jags hosted the Bucs and Tampa was overmatched. The Jags had the running game going with MJD running for over 100 yards, 1 TD and James was on target throwing 12 of 15 for 1 TD. The defense picked off Josh Johnson 5 times with LOLB Feazell getting a pick 6 and the Bucs running game never got in gear. In the end the Jags were just too strong, final score Bucs 0, Jags 27.

GL the rest of the season JC and draft a real QB.

Skins would avenge their earlier loss to the Cowboys as they would take a 42-10 lead into the fourth quarter and then allow the Cowboys 21 points late in the fourth to win 42-31.

The game got started with a quick strike to Santana Moss who would take the ball 60+ yards deep into Cowboys territory. Mike Sellers would punch it in from short. Deangelo Hall would pick off Tony Romo a couple of drives later for a pick six and the Skins would have a 14-0 lead after one quarter.

The Skins defense would play strong forcing multiple turnovers from the Cowboys and making big hits on their wideouts. The Skins offense would also get going as they would get two scores from Campbell to Moss and Kelly for the 28-0 lead. The Cowboys would score 10 quick point all under 2 minutes to bring the score to 28-10 at the half.

The Skins would seal the game with two touchdowns in the third quarter. Rookie WR Blakely would record another touchdown catch early in the quarter and a 55 yard rush by Bradshaw midway through the third would cap the Skins scoring at 42.

The Cowboys would get three touchdowns from backup quarter McCallister to three different wide receivers as the Skins defense would take the fourth quarter off.

Carolina visited New Orleans for the first time this year, and this would be the first time that Aragorn and Gotham would face off.

The Panthers would win the toss and receive the ball, but went 3-and-out. Then the Saints would setup for a 51 yard FG and nail it, for a quick 3-0 lead. A few punts later and the Panthers would get on the board with a 24 yard pass out of the shotgun from Vince Young to WR Kevin Moore. 7-3 after the first quarter.

Hartley would kick another field goal in the second quarter to keep the game close, and then the Panthers would go up 10-7 with a field goal. Just before the half, as time ticked away, Giovanni Girley would fumble the ball and Marshall would take it back 70 yards for the touchdown. A booth review would reverse the call however. The Saints would continue to pressure offensively, but Brees would get picked off in the endzone with 0:22 left in the half.

In the third quarter, the home team would take the ball downfield with Shockey getting a 3 yard pass from Brees and the 13-10 lead. Not to be outdone, Vince Young would strike downfield for a 24 yard touchdown pass to Steve Smith to take the lead 17-13.

In the fourth, the Saints would pull back within 1 on a field goal by Hartley (his third of the game) and then would block a punt in the endzone with 2:22 remaining for the touchdown to finally take the lead 24-17.

You have to be lucky to be good, and good teams get lucky. On the kickoff, Yamon Figurs would return the kickoff 105yds and then Williams would convert the 2 point conversion. Suddenly it was 25-24 for the visitors.

With 2 minutes left on the clock Brees and his Saints would march downfield and get to the 27 yard line before calling timeout with 0:03 remaining to setup the game winner. Then the football gods intervened, and somehow Hartley would miss the kick short.

    Panthers win 25-24.

    gg Aragorn.
