    Week3: Bucs(31) vs Titans(43)

CJ celebrates after one of his two TDs in a 43 to 31 Titan win vs the Bucs.

The Tennessee Titans returned home after a bad road trip to start the season. After facing QBs Brees and Brady to start the season and coming up sort in both games, the Titans hosted the also 0-2 Tampa Bay Buccaneers to open up LP Field for the first titan home game of the 2012 OMFL season. After laying an egg in the first game agaist the jags, but then coming back strong in a narrow defeat vs the pats, spirits were high in tennessee and the titans knew the wins would come and it would only be a matter of time before CJ2K would return to OMFL MVP form.
The game would start off slow as both teams were feeling each other out. The titans were giving CJ the rock as often as possible and the Bucs were trying to air it out with Big Ben the rapist. The only score came from a titans FG with 4 mins to go in the quarter. The quarter ended with the Titans in the Bucs redzone and a score of 3-0 titans.

On the first play of the second quarter, Titans RB Chris Johnson found the endzone from 2 yards out to make it 10-0 early in the 2nd Q, The bucs would finally get something together and started to make the big throws and catches. The bucs would finally get on the board with 2 yard TD run from McFadden to make the score 10-7 midway through the 2nd Q. The titans got the ball back and drove and looked to make something happen but were stopped short and forced to a FG to make the score 13-7 win less than 2 mins left. On the next drive, bucs QB big ben found wide open WRs on screens and slants and drove easily down into the titans redzone. With a min left in the half, Mcfadden added his second score of the game from two yards out to give the bucs their first lead of the game with 55 secs left in the half. On the ensueing kickoff, Titan rookie WR T. Purcell broke a couple tackles and returned it 93 yards to give the titans the lead back and make the score 20-14 with 50 secs left in the half. The bucs forced the pass on the next drive and the titans intercepted the ball and kicked another FG to end the half with a 23-14 lead.

The bucs got the ball first in the second half but stuggled again to move the ball consistantly. The first score of the second half would come again from a titans FG to make the score 26-14 early in the second. Again the titans defense would confuse the bucs and the titans forced the punt to get the ball back. A couple of plays later, CJ found the endzone again from 2 yards out and extended the lead to 33-14. The bucs finally started to figure out the titans blitz schemes and big ben found speedy buc WR berrian deep and scored on the 74 yard td pass to make it 33-21 and give TB a little life back. But again, Titans rookie WR Purcell got the kickoff and this time went 101 yards untouched to the house for the second kick return TD of the game to make the score 40-21 with seconds left in the third quarter.

The titans would focus on keeping the clock running in the fourth quarter with steady handoffs to RBs Chris Johnson and Lendell White. No team would find the endzone until late, after a FG by each team to make the score 43-24, big ben again scored a pass TD by completing a pass to Bucs WR Stroughter to make the score 43-31 but it was too little too late as the titans would take the victory formation to secure their first win of the season.

    Berrian: 4rec 155yds 1TD

The titans face Brees/Steve Smith/MJD and co again next week and need a big win to make things interesting again in the AFC south. The titans have had a terribly hard start to the season and they hope to be at least 500 when they get to the easy streach. Titans coach big ox is super pleased with how well his first round pick, WR T. Purcell, is doing. In the last two weeks he has had 4 TDs and almost 300 yards receiving. Purcell has been qouted as saying he is out to get the rookie of the year award and prove that he is a ton better than the 3 receivers drafted ahead of him in this years draft.
