In the game of the week in week 6 of the OMFL pitting two one loss
teams together in a cross country showdown. The 4-1 cards looked
strong early in the season behind RB Wells and WR Banks. The 4-1
Titans started strong behind great proformances from QB Brees and the Titans Defense.

The Cardinals won the toss and deferred to the second half and let
the Tennessee offense start the show with the ball. Looking strong
on a 11 play drive to start the game was capped off by a 1 yard TD run
by Bradshaw on 4th down. The titans would also add a FG late to bring
the score at the end of the first 10-0 Titans.

The cardinals seemed to be getting the protections down and quick
routes early in the second quarter and it showed with the Cards stringing
together a nice drive to get on the board with a 30 yard TD pass to
WR Roberts to cut the titan lead to 3. The Titans and Drew Brees seemed to always be in shootout mode so it didnt seem to stress brees. On third down on the cards 13 yard line, Brees found Holmes streaking between zones in the middle and lasered him to the TD score to extend the lead back to 10. Cardinals Speedster TE Beckum would add another seam spliter TD to end the half 17-14.
Both defenses showed up in the second half with nothing to show for in points or first downs until late in the quarter. After the cardinals best drive of the quarter stalled and they were forced to kick the FG., a stiff wind of lag hit the field and caused the kick to hit the cross bar and bounce out. How costly this would be, neither coach would know until late in the game. One of the few poor decisions by brees in the game lead to an 86 yard interception TD to give the cardinals their first lead of the day, 21-17. The titans would march right back down and answer with another brees TD, this time to FB CJ, who was a big factor in the game. Score at the end of the third. 24-21 Titans.
After the dreaded sack fumble early in the 4th quarter gave the ball and the momentum to the titans, brees once again found his favorite target, rookie TE Moore on the fly route, they jumped to the 10 point lead and seemed to relax a bit. The cards rallied back to take the lead with 14 straight points with TD passes to WR Banks and TE Beckum with less than 2 mins left. The titans put the game into Brees hands and he showed why he is the highest paid QB in the league. With about a minute left, Brees connected with rookie WR Gilmore for the 12 yard TD pass to take the lead back 38-35 Titans.
Would a minute be enough for the cardinals to at least kick a FG to tie the game and send it into overtime? After a timely TO by coach ox got the starters back on the field. 2 sacks, 1 defection, and one deep incomplete were all the Cards could muster. Score at the end of the game. 38-35 Titans.
GG SRC, that D is a tuff one and i was struggling all game to find WRs. That lag on the final drive sucked i know but oh well, what can you do? GG and GL the rest of the season. Your definitely a force in the weak NFC.
