Raiders Kick Their Way to Third Straight Win Against Chiefs

The Raiders looked to extend their winning streak to three games and face division rival Kansas City Chief this week. AFC west race has been very competitive with each with winning records and with the Chargers a game ahead of the Raiders and Chiefs coming in.

The Raiders struck first after stopping the Chiefs on their initial drive. Through the pass of Palmer, the Raiders got into position for the first points of game on a FG by Seabass. The Chiefs answered right after driving down the field quickly which ended with a Cassel TD pass to put the Chiefs up 7-3 early in the 1st. Palmer and the Raiders answered with a TD drive of their own finishing off with a Shockey TD catch about 10 yards out. The Raiders jumped back on top 10-7.

The remainer of the game, the Raider defense held the Chiefs without a score, stuffing Hillis on short yardage and confusing Cassell which resulted in four sacks for the Raiders. The Raiders offense struggled against a tough Chiefs defense as well with Palmer throwing just over 200 yards and two Ints. Top rusher McFadden broke the 100 yard mark, but took 31 carries and averaged under 4 yards a carry. The Although the Raiders struggled to score TDs, they were able to get into FG range and kicked five FGs. Late in the 4th, the Raiders held a 22-7 lead with the Chiefs finally breaking through with another TD drive. The Raiders were able to kill the clock and close out the game 22-14 to go 5-2.
