Paradise, Nevada-- BYU came into the game at 4-4 and strugglin for something on either side of the ball. Hiring a new coach may have been the right move, as Coach Knight resurrected the offense and defense for UNLV. Rotating quarterbacks, trying to find one that can fit a system was difficult. The QBs combined to throw for 9-22 181 yards and a TD. Harvey Unga proved that he can still tout the rock rushing for 282 yards on 29 carries with 7 TDs. The defense played well too with Te'o getting 14 tackles, ff, fr and Rich 11 tackles, 1 tfl, 1 int, 3 ff. The Cougars will travel to Wyoming next week to keep alive thier bowl plans.

    Cougars too much for Cowboys

Laramie, Wy-- What look like a mounting Cowboy lead during the first quarter turned into a 14 point deficit by halftime. Wyoming halfback ran wild during the first quarter scoring TDs on 19, 58, and 66 runs taking a 21-7 lead into the second quarter. BYU decided to wake up and scored 28 unanswered points in the second quarter taking a 35-21 lead into half. The points continued to rain for BYU as they score 21 in the 3rd and 14 in the fourth. Xavier Sullivan played most of the game for the Cougars throwing for 201 yards, 1 TD and 1 Int. Stephen Hill would see some playing time throwing 6 times completing 4 for 87 yards and 2 TDs. Harvey Unga continued to rush well 20 carries for 134 yards and 4 TDs.
Next week BYU hosts top 10 Utah.

Pravo, Ut-- The Holy War lived up to expectations as Utah came into the game ranked 11 and BYU unranked at 6-4. What looked like BYU was going to go in at half at least up 7 maybe 14 but Utah had other plans as they made a play on the ball and score the pick 6 with 0:03 left in the first half. 31-31 at half
BYU would lean heavily on Harvey Unga and he score with 1:36 left in the third quarter and then the Cougars got a pick 6 to go up 45-31 into the 4th. Unga then would put another TD on the board after the kickoff team forced a fumble, putting the Cougs up 52-31. Utah seemed all but out of it until they marched down the field and score on a 10 yard pass, then forced a fumble and returned it 30 yards for a TD, 52-45 BYU. Bryan Kariya would take the ensuing BYU possession on his back, running for a 64 yard TD. Utah wouldnt quit and then cut the lead back to 7 with a 13 yard pass with 0:49 left in the fourth. Utah's attempt at an onside kick failed and BYU with no lead safe score again with 0:08 left and making the final score 66-52.
