Welcome to Mid Tennessee's Blue Raider Review

Home of MTSU game summaries and potential recruits updates.

Questions will be answered such as, will DD Kyles live up to the pre-season all american hype? Will coach Rick Stockstill "still" be around if he gets the Blue Raiders to a bowl game?

Questions about Stockstill's future with the program are swarming around Murfreesboro.

BLACKOUT IN MURFREESBORO BRINGS BLUE RAIDERS 28-23 VICTORY OVER TEXAS A&M

Great match up with Drunken this week with his Aggies coming into Murfreesboro for game 1 of a home/home series. Drunken seemingly ran the ball down MTSU's throats all game long and set up a 14-0 lead late in the 2nd quarter.

Late interception of Texas A&M QB R. Tannehill by OLB N. Graves

Graves jumped the route to give MTSU QB Andrew Banks good field possession to try to even up the score at half. Here's a link of Banks 3 yard TD dart to WR Sancho Mcdonald to even the score.

Defenses went back and forth, but turnovers (2 INT's by Tannehill) and QB pressure kept MTSU in the game. Here's a 3rd quarter sack of Tannehill. Changing up the blitz packages and getting pressure on Texas A&M I think changed up the Aggies game plan and played into MTSU's defense a little.

The proverbial nail in the coffin, as A. Banks playaction faked off the QB read option and connected with Malcolm Beyah for Banks' 3rd TD of the game.

Late game heroics by true freshman CB A. Cox included this interception in the red zone. This score would have brought A&M within a FG with a 2 point conversion.

A&M would eventually score with 1 minute left to play and miss the 2 point conversion to make it a 28-23 game. MTSU would run out the clock to finish the game.

Fun game to play and tough to hold off Drunken's running attack. I think if he would have pounded the ball a bit more, A&M would have a different result.

MTSU has a bye week before top 25 ranked Stanford Cardinal comes into the Boro for the third straight big match up for the Blue Raiders.
