    A New Coach

Western Michigan 34, Central Michigan 18

Well folks, today marked a new day for the Western Michigan Broncos as their new coach led the team into battle. This was a very evenly matched game, but the difference was in the stifling play of the WMU defense -- their weakest link! The Broncos were led by SO(RS) SS Keith Dixson, who had 10 tackles, 5 TFL, 2 Sacks, and 2 INT -- a TRUELY beast game.

Coach Basis will shake up a WMU team that is now 8-3 (6-1) on the season, and poised to make an appearance in the MAC Championship Game with a win over Temple. The new coach will look to remain balanced on offense, with his biggest change coming to the defensive scheme which will rely on 2 strong safeties. The recruiting board also is a mess right now, and of the 35 players that were initially on the board when the coach got to his office, there now remain only 9.

There is a lot of work to do at Western Michigan, and the work begins today.

WMU took care of Temple in Philly this week, and looks forward to the MAC title game after 3 bye weeks in a row to focus on recruiting and getting ready for Bowling Green!
