Western Michigan Broncos A New Coach Western Michigan 34, Central Michigan 18 Well folks, today marked a new day for the Western Michigan Broncos as their new coach led the team into battle. This was a very evenly matched game, but the difference was in the stifling play of the WMU defense -- their weakest link! The Broncos were led by SO(RS) SS Keith Dixson, who had 10 tackles, 5 TFL, 2 Sacks, and 2 INT -- a TRUELY beast game. Coach Basis will shake up a WMU team that is now 8-3 (6-1) on the season, and poised to make an appearance in the MAC Championship Game with a win over Temple. The new coach will look to remain balanced on offense, with his biggest change coming to the defensive scheme which will rely on 2 strong safeties. The recruiting board also is a mess right now, and of the 35 players that were initially on the board when the coach got to his office, there now remain only 9. There is a lot of work to do at Western Michigan, and the work begins today.
