Julio Jones = Amazing, I never once flinched at Atlanta making that trade. I did and still love the move.

It hurt them in other areas that they could have addressed.

Its good yes but you see it year in and year out that you cant win without a great defense, you cant win if you dont put pressure on the opposing QB. The Falcons Defense took a hit and I believe its due to that trade.

ATL in trouble this year. Don't be surprised when the finish last in the South.

What impact player on defense would you have grabbed for us in the late late first round? There wasn't one

Thats wrong because look who was still on the board with the pick they gave up..

CB Jimmy smith,DE Cameron heyward, DT Muhammad Wilkerson still on the board in the 1st round

this years draft pick was #22 still on the board were LB Donte Highter, LB/DE Whitney Mercilus, LB/DE Nick Perry in the 1st round.

    Those are just the 1st rounders and in the trade they gave up 2 1st (2011&2012) 2nd &4th (2011) and a 4th in 2012.

We clearly disagree on what an "impact" player is on defense...The first "impact" player you throw out is Jimmy Smith CB? really? Question. Will you still feel this way if Julio Jones numbers are the same as Calvin Johnsons over the first few years? (or better)

Its not just about 1 player the falcons need several positions on the Defense. They lack depth, at Key Positions, they lack elite players on Defense. I think Jones will be great but man they gave up a lot to go get him. Who knows who they would have picked in those spots, but staying pat may have made them a better "team".

The Falcons don't need help on defense. I believe they scored more than the offense in the playoffs. :D

I'm sorry, but no WR is a franchise player.

Your telling me Calvin Johnson isn't franchise material? He single handedly shifts a whole defense to his side. Freeing up the other side. I would argue this to great lengths. Obviously the lions think that way considering what they spent on him.

I'm a firm believer that the only legit franchise player on a football team is the Quarterback, with that said there are some elite players at WR that can be game changers but wont win you the superbowl.

Exactly! Calvin Johnson is an elite player and definite impact player, but I would have to agree that in football, the only true franchise players are QBs.
