What do you guys expect from returning legs of semi final games? I see a Chelsea-Madrid final. It is at least what I am hoping for. I know it will be very hard in Barcelona, but it is not impossible either!!! Messi picked up an injury towards the end of the first half, but kept going. I believe without Messi Barcelona would be lost in the pitch. Madrid will cruise thru in Spain with no doubt.
Madrid is going to have to keep Bayern off the board, not exactly an easy task, especially with Gomez getting chances almost at will in the first leg. Did I mention I'm a Bayern fan, lol. I could easily see something like a 2-2 final in Madrid, that first leg was so much fun to watch, both sides go from defend to attack soooo fast. Unlike the borefest Barca puts on display. 80% possession is impressive and all, but it's not exactly fun to watch Chelsea put 9 men behind the ball and just sit and wait. I'd give Barca the better chance of the 2 trailing Spanish side though, they could easily put 3 or 4 in at home and I don't see Chelsea scoring very easily, unlike Bayern.
if bayern were able to put 2 in, real would need at least 4 to advance...i could see bayern getting 2. chelsea apparently saved all of their form for cup play, i keep waiting for the team thats limping through the premier to show up in the champions league, i think it finally happens at camp nou. barcelona should bounce back, and i would project a 2+ goal victory at home in the return leg. Barcelona vs Bayern Munich in the final.
Yeah, both Bayern and Chelsea needed another goal for any kind of chance to advance. I see both Madrid and Barca scoring at least twice at home and booking their tickets to the Final. Only chance both Chelsea and Bayern have is if their mismatches (Drogba and Mario) absolutely dominate and find the back of the net or at least help find the back of the net.
Did you guys watch the Bayern-Madrid game? Real will have a hard time keeping Munich off the board, they were lucky not to give up more than 2. Considering the epic el Clasico matchup for Madrid this weekend, keeping a clean sheet on Wednesday is hardly a given. I would not be surprised to see a mirror result, 2-1, and end up in penalties.
I'm going w/ Barca/Madrid, but I like Bayern's chances, and would much rather see them win the whole thing
Yeeeeaaaahhhhhhh , I told you guys!!!! I was the only one who voted for them, and Chelsea boys did not let me down.
What a freaking game. So Chelsea vs Mourinho? Or Bayern in their home arena? With all the players Chelsea will be missing in the final, Madrid\Munich will be licking their lips.
Ideally I'd rather see Chelsea vs Real Madrid because of the subplot but Bayern is in good form right now
That has got to be the biggest triumph an English side has had in European play in some time now. Losing BOTH centerbacks, going down to ten men. Amazing.
