Whole Board's Opinion - Draft Rookie Pay out
Heres wins idea. I have to admit, I like it:
I love it.
I have no problem with that. good idea. Maybe top 10 be 10 pts. the rest of the first round 8 pts. 2nd rd 6, 3rd rd 4, and so on
Want to make this more real life?
Top 5: 20 points (yes 20! think about the ridiculous bonuses to the top 5 in real life)
5-10: 15 points
Rest of 1st Round: 10 points
I don't think you need to go beyond the first round with this if we are trying to emmulate NFL. Also, this isn't as easy for capologist as the original post states. IMO it will make more work for them not less.....but I do like the idea. At least through the first round.
This might also stem some of the ridiculous trading we are seeing by teams trying to get into the top 10.
Like dunlaps even more
20 points too much, but i do agree it should be first round only
Top 10 pick should be more than the rest of the first round, whatever the number ends up
20 points is almost like penalizing them for having a bad record!!
but 20 points is comparable to what they would be paid in the NFL. Didn't bradford just sign like a $60 million contract?
I like mine, but of course that'd why we are all here!
Yeah, thats why its talked about so negatively, and they're changing that rule in the coming seasons.
Ya. I say 20 is probably too high. I dont mind it being high, but thats too high. I like duns idea with say 15 for top pick, 13 for top 10, 12 for top 15, 11 for top 20, 10 for 21-32.
thats alot to take in. looks like cunfusion to me, thats alot goin on there
I sort of agree.
So how about:
1-5: 15 points
6-10: 12 points
11-20: 10 points
20-32: 8 Points
Just a tad simpler than Nate's version.
Go back to regular hits for 2nd round
I think this is a great idea. We just have to get the right scale. I like the top pick being 15. The rest seems like it would work.
I like this scale more. This works really well IMO.
Thats good with me. I liked the top pick being worth the most, but this is good. we'll get a few more ideas and then ill implement.
what happens in year 2,3 and so on?
Do they keep the salary or revert to league scale?
They keep the salary.....and lets be honest unless you draft horribly, by the team year 2 or 3 comes around, they should be about up to that number anyways
I like it, its realistic. It's like guaranteed money to a first round draft pick.
So is this passed?
Yes and its in the draft info thread i posted.
We probably should come up with a color font used for 1st round picks to make the book keeping easier for this because thats the only down side to do this. Like it though. Good stuff
