The New York Jets were led by huge performances from Sanchez and Cromartie to get a huge playoff win

The #3 seeded New York Jets won their wild card round playoff matchup against the #6 seeded Jacksonville Jaguars 31-28. As they have all season long, the Jets were able to pick up yet another win in a game decided by just a field goal.

The Jets received the opening kickoff and wasted no time opening up their offense as their first drive was capped off with a 30 yard reception by top receiver Santonio Holmes. A couple of drives later with the score tied at seven, Sanchez found tight end Dustin Keller, who had a fantastic regular season, wide open and took it to the house for an 89 yard touchdown. Following a Cromartie interception just before halftime, Keller would add another touchdown grab from five yards out to lead 21-14 at the halfway mark.

Blaine Gabbert began to find his rythym in the second half of this game with touchdown passes to tight end Marcedes Lewis and Mike Thomas. Thomas' touchdown came with 1:12 left in the game following a fantastic 4th-and-long conversion to keep the Jags in the game. With just over a minute left on the clock, Sanchez needed to lead his team down into field goal range for a game-winning attempt. A couple of short completions to Stephen Hill and Keller were followed by a long gain by veteran wideout Chad Johnson to get easily within range for a Josh Brown kick. The Jets would kick the ball with just a few seconds left on the clock and as the timer went to :00 there was no doubt as Brown kicked it right down the middle to seal the game for New York.
