The Falcons came in with the better record, but had to travel to Washington because the Skins won their division. This won was all Falcons early as they jumped out to an early 14-0 lead on a 5 yard pass from Ryan to White and a Grimes INT returned for a TD. Washington had trouble moving the ball all day, until halfway through the 2nd quarter when they got deep into Falcon territory, but had to settle for a Gano 28 yard FG to make the score 14-3. The Falcons answered back quickly though, on their next drive Turner busted a 54 yard TD run to make it 21-3 at the half. In the 2nd half, a Matt Ryan INT on the opening drive led to another Redskin FG making it 21-6 at the end of the 3rd quarter. The Falcons put together a nice drive, taking up some key time and Turner punched another TD in from 4 yards out to give the Falcons a 28-6 lead with 6 minutes left in the 4th. But the Redskins wouldn't quit, and shortly after that, Ryan Torain broke a 70 yard TD run, and they added a 2pt conversion to make the score 28-14. But the Falcons would drive the ball down the field, converting 3 third downs and ran out the remaining time on the clock with 2 Matt Ryan kneel downs. However, on that last drive, Michael Turner broke his collar bone and looks to be out for the remainder of the playoffs for the Falcons, which is a crushing blow to their offense as he amassed over 1900 yards rushing and 26 TD's.
