New York eliminates division rival New England from playoffs

After somehow sneaking into the playoffs as the #6 seed with a mediocre 9-7 record, the Jets looked to prove that they are better than their record indicated. The team made a strong case with a 30-17 win over the Patriots. After splitting the season series, the two teams were very familiar with each other. The Jets focus on establishing a running game and limiting turnovers paid off in a big way.

Rookie QB Steven Hardin stepped up in the playoffs for his best game of the season. Hardin completed 15 of 20 passes for 245 yards with three touchdowns and no picks. Hardin was assisted by the Jets' best running game results of the season. Darren Sproles had 15 carries for 97 yards, Shonn Greene had 24 yards, and Hardin pitched in with 5 runs for 40 yards on the ground.

The Jets' defense came up big and held Brady in check. Although they did not force many turnovers, they prevented Brady from getting into any rythym. Brady would only complete 14 of 33 passes in the game.

New York's win sets up a divisional round matchup as a rematch of season 1's AFC Championship game as the Jets travel to Indy to take on the #1 seed Colts.
