    Week 1

    Arizona 35
    Fresno St 28

In a game that many saw as a week 1 blowout, Fresno St showed up to play and it was anything but. Arizona hung on to win, but realized how much work they have to do before PAC 10 play opens up.

Arizona opened the scoring in the first on a 5 yard strike from Nick Foles to Juron Crinec. After a touchdown and field goal by the Bulldogs, Keola Antolin carried it in from 2 yards out to give the Wildcats a 14-10 halftime lead.

A thrid quarter field goal pulled Fresno St back to within 1. Taimi Tutogi answered with a 7 yard touchdown run. Then Foles hit Crinec again, this time from 18 yards out, giving Arizona a 28-13 lead heading to the fourth. Foles hit Travis Cobb early in the fourth for a 5 yard touchdown. Two late Fresno St touchdowns made the final score 35-28.

Foles finished 21 for 33 for 373 yards, 3 touchdowns and 2 picks. Antolin led the way on the ground with 91 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries. Cobb had 6 catches for 125 yards and a touchdown and Bug Wright had 4 receptions for 102 yards.

Arizona opens up 1-0 and heads to East Lansing next week to take on the Spartans.

    Week 3

    Arizona 41
    Akron 14

Arizona came into this game following a loss to Michigan State looking to get back on track. They did just that versus a relatively inferior Akron Zips squad.

Arizona kicked off the scoring in the first half on a 32 yard Alex Zendejas field goal. Another Zendejas field goal, this one from 30 yards, and a Keola Antolin 1 yard touchdown run in the second made it 13-0 at half. The Wildcat defense was very impressive in the first half, rarely allowing the Zips to get anything going at all.

Second half scoring was kicked off when Nick Foles hit Jack Baucus for a 44 yard touchdown strike. Foles struck again later in the third, this time to Juron Criner, for a 9 yard scoring strike. Baucus, replacing injured fullback Taimi Tutogi, capped off a fourth quarter scoring drive with a 4 yard run. Akron would finally break through in the fourth on a 22 yard touchdown pass from Patrick Nicely to Keith Sconiers. Arizona would answer right back when Foles found Bug Wright for a 21 yard touchdown pass. Akron found the endzone again when Nicely hooked up with Anthony Meriwether for 46 yards.

Foles finished 19 of 27 for 268 yards and 3 touchdowns and an interception. Antolin carried 17 times for 73 yards and a score. Arizona improves to 2-1 and will open up conference play next week when they welcome the Oregon State Beavers.

    Week 4

    Arizona 34
    Oregon St 30

Arizona was able to hold off a late comeback by the Beavers as Nick Foles threw for 392 yards and accounted for 3 touchdowns in the PAC 10 opener for both schools.

Arizona started the scoring in the first quarter when Jake Fisher scooped a fumble and returned it 72 yards for a touchdown. Oregon St would answer back in the second on a 6 yard touchdown pass from Ryan Katz to Colby Prince. Jovan Stevenson capped off the Beavers' next drive with a 1 yard plunge. Alex Zendejas connected on a 36 yard field goal pulling the Wildats to within 4 at 14-10. Nearing halftime, Nick Foles hit Travis Cobb for a 22 yard score. The Wildcats led at the half 17-14.

A third quarter sack of Foles in his own endzone gave Oregon St a safety and made the score 17-16. Foles would redeem himself on the Cats next possesion when he hooked up with Juron Criner for a 37 yard touchdown pass. A Zendejas 37 yard field goal made it 27-16 Arizona heading to the fourth. David Paaluhi intercepted a Nick Foles pass and returned it 54 yards for a touchdown bringing the Beavers back to within 4 at 27-23. Then backup quarterback Sean Mannion hit Markus Wheaton from 10 yards out to give Oregon St a 30-27 lead. Nick Foles led Arizona on a final drive which saw the Cats facing a 3rd and goal from the 6 with 12 seconds remaining. Foles took the snap in the shotgun, surveyed the field, and when all his recievers were covered and his protection broke down, he found a lane and squirted through, dashing 6 yards for the clinching score.

Foles finished 21-45 with 392 yards and 2 touchdowns. He was picked twice but added a rushing touchdown. Travis Cobb had 6 catches for 142 yards and a touchdown. Juron Criner added 3 grabs for 106 yards and a score.

Arizona improves to 3-1 (1-0) with the win. They have a bye next week.
