After being exonerated by the NCAA of recruiting violations for several schools Willie has made his triumphant return to the world of college football recruiting. He has let me in on his top few players at each position. He will be releasing his rankings over the course of the evening.

    QB:

    1. Joe Larsen- Larsen is a no doubt star at the next level and as such he makes the Willie's Rankings at #1 and also ESPNU's. He has outstanding accuracy for a HS senior and will make an impact for Georgia Tech or Michigan. Larsen is a prototypical QB for a spread offense. He moves well and is accurate on all his passes.

    2. Joe Cook- Cook is the #6 rated QB by ESPNU but Willie moves him higher because he has a phenomenal ability to slide out of tackles. He doesn't have the most polished fundamentals in the pocket, but if he takes off you better wrap him up. Cook is committed to Tennessee, he chose their offer over Georgia and Notre Dame.

    3. Raishaun Burrell- Burrell is the #4 QB by ESPNU but he moves up a slot here. Burrell is similar to Cook, but he is a little more raw as a passer than Cook is. Burrell makes up for it with his outstanding speed, and great elusiveness. Burrell is also very good at breaking tackles something that sets him apart from Joe Cook. Burrell looks like he is headed to UNC, but Iowa is not far behind.

    RB:

    1. Calvin Davis- Davis moves up 1 slot in Willie's rankings and takes the top spot. Davis has amazing speed and acceleration, and his ability to shake tacklers could make him the best RB out of California since Reggie Bush. Bush and Davis are similar and use their speed to dominate at the high school level. He will have to learn to run through tacklers if he ends up at Wisconsin as projected.

    2. Ian Simmons JUCO (JR)- Simmons is one of the few JUCO Recruits that Willie "tutors." It's easy to see why Coach Willie has taken a liking to Simmons. Simmons can run over, around and through defenders and his above average speed will let him take it to the house if given the chance. Simmons has narrowed his list to 8 schools, but without holding any offers can't pare down his choices any further. Coach Willie has contacted UNC, Michigan, and Wisconsin attempting to arrange an on campus visit.

    3. Shane Lumpkin- Lumpkin makes a big jump in Coach Willie's rankings. He moves from the #29 RB all the way up to 3rd. Lumpkin is the quintessential "Jack of all trades, master of none." Lumpkin has the agility to stop and cut on a dime, but everything else is only slightly above average. He does have an outstanding juke move in the open field. Coach Willie has apparently been in contact with the Virginia head coach, and it looks like UVA is the only school willing to pay up offer a scholarship.

    WR:

    1. William Fitzpatrick- Fitzpatrick is the #5 WR in ESPNU's rankings, but he makes the move to the top of the list here. He is a little short for the position, but at 5'11 he can still play WR at the next level. He is without a doubt the most surehanded WR in the class. If the QB gets the ball anywhere near him it's a catch. He doesn't break many tackles, nor will his speed let him break short routes for long gains routinely, but he will move the chains and keep the offense moving down field. Wisconsin and Michigan look like they will come in second in the bidding for Fitz behind LSU and the bags of cash the SEC throws around.

    2. Nick Scott- Scott is the #2 WR for Willie, and the #7 WR according to ESPNU. Scott is similar to Fitzpatrick, but he has the size and speed to beat coverage deep. Wille says that Scott reminds him of Randy Moss when he committed to FSU. Tall and fast with good hands. He has a nice juke move to bust out on CB in the open field. If Scott gets past the secondary you can forget catching him. Looks like Michigan and Wisconsin chose not to pursue another one of Willie's students, but Alabama is throwing NFL money lots of strippers and coke at Scott. Coach Saban says he hasn't dropped either one yet.

    3. Johnathan Barbour- Barbour takes a small tumble in Coach Willie's rankings. Supposedly because he chose to go to Michigan and not listen to Coach Willie's advice that he head to Oklahoma or Auburn. Barbour has decent hands and is a precise route runner, but he shines once the ball is in his hands. Barbour has good height for a WR in college but he needs to put on some weight. Coach Willie told him he needed to eat more Rhode Island Clams, but Barbour mis-heard him and and ended up with cold sores blanketing his lips.

    4. Jeff Hawkins- He slides up a good ways in Coach Willie's rankings from #21 all the way to #4. Hawkins will command 2 salaries at OSU play 2 sports at OSU, basketball and football. He is an explosive leaper and his 6'5 frame makes sure smaller DB's can't stop the jump ball. He also has the speed to take any catch to the house and enough elusiveness to shake a defender or 2 on his way.

    5. Tim Barnes- Barnes makes this list on his size alone (6'5 241 WTF). He could move to TE at the next level and provide a great receiving threat in the passing game. He has above average speed is a pretty sure handed against corners. His size allows him to shield smaller defenders from the ball and he is adept at making the circus catch. Coach Willie has known Barnes for years and has been giving him steroids working him out hard for several years. He looks like a phenomenal athlete for the college game and if he can maximize his potential he could be a fantastic pro too. He is looking to stay close to home though. Seems he told Virginia that he didn't want to be too far away from his young son. Presumably so he can get clean piss.

    TE:

    1. Chris Coleman- Coleman looks to be great player at the next level and that's why Coach Willie has taken him under his wing. Coleman is a huge target in the passing game with enough speed to make the defense pay if they forget about him. He is a better run blocker than pass blocker, but he is very good at both. Wisonsin has beat out Iowa and Michigan for Coleman's signature, and they hope he will forget about being Chris "The Cokeman" Coleman once he gets on campus. Unfortunately for them Coleman is from Eau Claire so his connect will only be a few hours away. Coach Willie says he doesn't care what he puts up his nose, he even asked "How do you think Lawerence Taylor and Demetrius Harris got so fast?"

    2. Tommy Smith- Smith is one spot below Coleman in both rankings, #8 in ESPNU and #2 here. Smith is a better receiver than blocker but he is above average at both. He does have slightly better speed than Coleman, but Coleman is a better all around player. Coach Willie says it's because Smith is a pothead, and is therefore much more mellow. Smith has oralled to former Penn State coach Jerry Sandusky given his verbal committment to Penn State.

    3. Max Wilson- Wilson might be the most well rounded TE in this class, but since he isn't a Lyles pupil he has been downgraded here. Wilson can run block like a tackle and catch the ball well in traffic. Coach Willie doesn't know much about him, but says he's a "Peter puffer." The Talequah, OK product looks to be headed out west to USC. He declined to speak to us for our rankings, his girlfriend English teacher told us he's a model student and should do very well at USC.

That's it for the offense, but Coach Willie says he will be back later tonight to cover the defense.

Coach Willie is back for the second installment of his Recruit Rankings. This half will cover the defensive players available.

    DE:
Cliff Lamb- Lamb is the #2 DE by ESPNU but he moves to the top slot here. Lamb is the younger brother of current Nebraska LB Mike Lamb, but never even gave the Huskers a sniff. Lamb has outstanding speed for a DE, and fights off blocks well. He isn't as polished as Sam Briggs, but his superior athleticism pushes him to the top spot. Lamb looks like he is headed to the SEC. He is trying to decide between Auburn and Florida with Georgia Tech bringing up the rear, perhaps in honor of former coach Natural who, as we all know, liked a nice rear.

Sam Briggs- Briggs slips a spot in Coach Willie's rankings from #1 to #2. He is a better all around DE than Briggs, but his athleticism may limit his potential at the next level. Auburn has a chance to bring in the top 2 DE in the class if they can hold off a hard charging Michigan. Briggs is said to be mildly retarded, but when coach tells him to get the ball he will do everything in his power to get to it. If Michigan can find Briggs a good tutor or Auburn sets him up with a Sociology major he could be a 4 year performer.

Quinton Estes- Estes is a Lyles client from Washington who makes a large jump from #19 to #3 in these rankings. He is slow, and only has decent acceleration, but many times it looks like a way to lure the opposing lineman to sleep before slipping the block and sacking the QB. Estes likes the ladies and has 14 children by 7 different women, all of whom are sets of twins. He is headed to Stanford but hopes to make it to the NFL one day.

    DT:

Shane Jones- Jones makes a huge jump in the rankings moving from #12 to #1. Jones is very tall and will have to learn how to play with better leverage at the next level, but right now he is slinging opposing lineman around like poo in the loony bin. He is one of the fastes DT and could make a move to DE for college if he can get stronger and maintain his speed. Coach Willie said he was asking for $50,000 for Jones signature and Coach Redd of Iowa said, "What's 50 grand to a mother fucker like me? Can you please remind me?"

Brandon Morton- Morton is helping to make this DL class for Michigan an historic haul. Morton shows great acceleration off the snap and has the finesse moves to beat the slower guards and generate pressure from up the middle. Morton said he liked Michigan because it's close to home and his Mom can come watch him play. He said he decided against LSU because his father doesn't have access to CBS in prison, only ABC and the B1G network. Morton looks like a star at the next level if Coach Philstyle can get him to maximize his potential.

Ricky Leach- Iowa is cleaning up in the middle, and adding 2 tall DT who can swat balls before they make it to WR. Leach doesn't have ideal strength but he has enough to slip blocks easily and a mean streak that makes him want to punish opposing QB. Leach will have to work on his strength at the next level, but in Iowa there is only Corn, Beer, and Slipknot so it should be easy. North Carollina is trying to close on Leach, but it looks like a lost cause.

    OLB:

Brent Dickerson- Will someone please stop Auburn from taking all the top recruits? Auburn was one of Willie's favorite schools before his run in with the NCAA and it appears things havent changed. Dickerson has above average speed for an OLB and has great tackling skills. He is also one of the better LB in coverage that we have seen in a long time. Dickerson has the size and speed to play just about anywhere. In a 3-4 he can be a hybrid DE/OLB, in a 4-3 he can play either LB spot and in safety heavy formations he can play SS. Michigan wasn't able to pony up the cash to sign Dickerson, but I bet Coach Philstyle won't let that happen again.

Brandon Holmes- Holmes, the illegitimate child of porn star John Holmes, is headed to Wake Forest. Holmes looks to be too small to play LB in college until you see him punish opposing players. Holmes loves to hit, and he also loves the one punch knock out. Sometimes he looks for the kill shot instead of wrapping up and driving through the ball carrier. That is something that Coach Kasper will love to fix. Kasper told Coach Willie that he is going to make Holmes form tackle every team mate he sees on campus. "If I make a RB carry the ball all week I ask his team mates to try and strip it, this is the same philosophy."'

Ryan Newsome- Newsome is headed to Wake Forest also and Kasper looks to have the makings of a strong defensive middle. Newsome is tall, and still needs to put on a little weight, but at his current size he could step in and play immediately. If he can add a few pounds he might make a very good DE as his block shedding and acceleration are off the charts. Newsome has a perpetual scowl on his face but that's because he's from Akron, a huge Cleveland Cavaliers fan and is still pissed at Lebron James.

    MLB:

Jason Hood- Hood gets the nod here because he is coming in as a freshman with an upperclassmen's body. Literally. He murdered an upperclassman at San Diego State on an unofficial visit last summer, and for some reason keeps it in his car's trunk. He is a great tackler with above average pursuit skills and understands offenses well enough to read and react well. Hood is currently out on bail, but the judge is a huge LSU fan so if he signs with LSU he should get off scot free.

Aaron Campbell- Campbell does everything well, and is a well balanced talented MLB. Campbell projects well to the next level as coaches won't have to build any part of his game from scratch. Campbell has signed with Texas A&M over Arkansas and TCU. Cambell is from Louisiana and had a cameo on "Swamp People" earlier this year. Campbell went Gator hunting with Troy and killed a gator with his bare hands.

Coach Willie said he would like to rank a 3rd MLB, but as they all are about the same after these 2 he has declined to do so.

    CB:

Terrence Robinson- Robinson looks to be joining a potentially dominant defense at Wake Forest. Robinson has great speed and acceleration. His cover ability is only average, but he will jam a WR at the line better than just about anyone. On top of that his play recognition skills are off the charts and his pursuit is second to none. Robinson shows the potential to be a lock down corner at the next level. Robinson has been arrested 12 times for burglary. He says it's just to help his open field running skills. Coach Willie is inclined to believe him as he has returned 15 interceptions for TD over the last 2 seasons.

Justin Sanders- The best coach in college football is now getting some of the best players in college football and Michigan looks poised to become a dynasty. Sanders is a phenomenal cover corner and really stands out in zone coverage and when pressing the WR. Sanders is excited about the pending move to Ann Arbor, when asked about his decision he said, "Anything that gets me out of Mississippi is perfect for me."

Nate London- London takes the final spot in our rankings, and he looks to be a difference maker for Purdue and their talenless defense. Coach Jqwon hopefully will be able to parlay this singing into a competitive Purdue program. London has outstanding speed, and zone cover skills, but he will need to work on his man cover and jamming skills. London is from South Bend, IN and spurned the hometown Irish to join the Boilermakers.

    FS:

Jason Concepcion- There are only 2 potential stars at FS in this class and Coach Willie believes that ESPNU got these 2 in the correct order. Concepcion is a big FS with great speed and tackling skills. He should be able to roam deed and use his size and good hands to pick off deep passes. Concepcion will be joining the Fighting Irish in the fall, but he spurned Michigan to accept the offer from Brian Kelly. Concepcion hopes to make a big impact for the Irish. He will be making the short drive from Bluffton to South Bend. He said he chose Notre Dame because he wouldn't have to give up his "Kingpin" status back home. "I am the Marlo Stanfield of Bluffton, I only use a cell phone for cryptic texts only involving a picture of hands on a clock."

Andre Todd- Todd is another oversized FS. Nebraska was in on Todd for a while until he told them he wanted to play FS and not SS in their 425. Todd is weak in man coverage, but he has exceptional speed and acceleration to make up for it. Todd looks like he will be choosing the Aggies and joining up with Aaron Campbell to create a new era of the "Wrecking Crew." He said, "A&M hasn't done much since RC left, and now we look poised to do it. When Coach Sherman isn't taking naps he is a great coach."

    SS:

Scott Horne- Horne is tailor made for the 425 that TCU runs and it looks like that's where he'll be heading. He is a great tackler and very impressive when bumping the WR. He will have to work on slipping blocks. Horne is from Myrtle Beach, SC. He said he wanted to get away from his reputation in SC and go somewhere no one will know him. With Fort Worth only recently getting dial-up internet coverage it should allow him to do so. For those of you wondering what reputation he is hoping to get away from it's the nickname of "Horny Horne" Apparently Horne has been caught on school security cameras groping every female who happened to walk by his locker. Due to his BMOC and football skills the school district has tried to keep everything under wraps.

Robert Robinson- Robinson is headed to either UNC or Michigan, and it looks like he will be a great pickup for either school. He has good speed and tackling ability and also manages to cover WR and TE well. He is a little on the short side, but his vertical makes up for it. Robinson is also a great PG on the basketball team, he is currently averaging 25 point and 14 assists. Basketball make factor into his decision about his college choice. Robinson hopes to chage his name one day, He doesn't like the sound of his names together. He said he can't tell whether his girlfriend is moaining his first name or his last and it really bugs him.

Whoop, nice to see my Deacons got some recognition on the recruiting trail - I could have a siiiiick defense if all these OLB's come and I land that CB.

My lineman all get coverage sacks right now anyways so I don't need anyone special up front as long as they aren't gettin pancaked every other play.

I am glad yall liked it. I know I have promised it for 3 or 4 seasons now, and I had tons of free time last night and this morning. Hopefully I'll be able to get them done again next season too.

If I get him and other DT I'm going after...my defense is going to be ridiculous. I can focus on LB's and DB's the next 2 years.
