Saints And Lions Battle It Out In OMFL Insta-ClassicNew Orlenas, LA - Savage Mason Reporting The Mighty Lions traveled to NO for a OMFL battle of epic proportions. Lions were looking to get a big win down in the big easy and stay atop of the NFCC, while the Saints are still scrapping and fighting to save a season that went south like the birds, quickly. Saints would receive first and get right to business. Early on this would be the Reggie Bush show as every run seemed to go for 10+ yards. Bush would run so much that he'd be too tired to carry the rock into the endzone, but Greene did and Saints took a early 7-0 lead on a 5 yard run. Saints would hold the Lions and Bush would go back to work. This time Bush would get his own td from 4 yards out. 14-0 Saints. Lions wouldn't quit though and would battle it out all game long. The Reggie Bush show quickly turned into the Reggie Bush/Java Best show. Best would get the lions on the board with a 5 yard run of his own. Lions would harass Brees all day, either sacking him or forcing a bad throw and even picking him off twice. Lions would use best to tied the game on a 15 yard run. Reggie would come right back, this time scoring form 29 yard out to take a 21-14 lead. Lions would fire right back, this time hitting Best on a perfect screen for a 36 yard td play to tie the game at 21 each. Lions would get the ball back with just over 1 min remaining in the half. Garrard would be picked off by Jordan and returned for the pick six 24 yards for the 28-21 lead. Brees would get another shot before half after another turnover. Brees would go to work but make a horrible 3rd down decision on the goalline and Ash would have a 102 yard pick six td to tie the game at half at 28 each. 3rd quarter was all defense on both sides. Lions would take the lead late in the quarter with a 18 yard fg for a 30-28 lead. 4th quarter is where things got really good. Brees would hit henderson on a 9 yard td play on a quick strike offensive series to take a 35-31 lead. Hartley would tack on a 45 yard fg with 3:22 left in the game to extend the lead to 38-31. Lions would put together a very good drive and threaten to score to go for the tie, but Jordan would read a play and pick the route to seal the game for the Who Dat Nation. Scoring Summary: Player & Team Stats on the game: Great game @winuvas Your team fought hard and it was a instant classic. I'd play that game again a million times. Player of the game: RB Reggie Bush Bush rushed 18 times for 135 and 2 tds. One of his best days as a Saint in the OMFL. If Brees can keep it out of the other teams hands, and Bush can run the rock like this every week, Saints would be tough to contend with.
