Saints Keep Pace In NFCS - Take Our Rival PanthersNew Orlenas, LA - Savage Mason Reporting The Saints are on a roll, for the first time since their small run to the playoffs last season. A bad start has finally turned into a team who has fought it's way out of the cellar, and the NFCS has helped out by coming back to the pack. Falcons have lost 5 straight and the Saints and Bucs lok to have taken control of this division. In come the Panthers, who have had a very down season since winning the NFCS from the Saints last year. Panthers would receive the ball and being their drive, a very good drive. Saints would hold them on the 3 yard line after some great defensive plays. Suisham would nail a 25 yarder for a 3-0 lead. After a Bush fumble, which would be a problem today, Panthers Williams would take it 37 yards for the long td run. 10-0 Panthers, who were firmly in control. Saints would be forced to get a good drive going, a drive that was kept alive by Brees. On a long 3rd down Brees would run for a 20 yard gain to pick up the first down. 2 plays later Brees would run it in from 11 yard for his first running td of the year. 10-7 Panthers. Saints would get the ball back and on a 3rd down Brees would see single coverage with no S help. After audibling Lawrence on a fly, Brees throws a beautiful pass to a laid out Lawrence for a 43 yard td pass/catch. 14-10 Saints. Saints would force the Panthers to punt with just seconds left in the half, yet bush AGAIN would fumble in the endzone for the Panther td. 17-14 Saints. Brees would try to get something going and make his one mistake on the day, Panthers would make it count with a 39 yard fg as time expired, a 10 point shift in 16 seconds to give the Panthers all the mo'. 20-14 Panthers. 2nd half kickoff would be taking in by Brown of the Saints, after 2 nice cuts and open field, he would take it back 94 yard for the td and get the Saints right back into the game. 21-20 Saints. Bush later in the 3rd quarter would take it in from 1 yard out to extend the lead to 28-20 Saints, and give them some breathing room. Saints and Panthers would go back and forth, with Vilma of the Saints making some super plays with double digit tackles, a sack and a int. Bush would take a handoff early in the 4th quarter and scamper 80 yards to put the game out of the way - 35-20. Scoring Summary: Player & Team Stats on the game: Great game @claven. It's the best rivalry in the OMFL and my funniest. I hate that your thinking about swapping teams because its the only rivalry that I have and thats what makes the OMFL great. Player of the game: RB Reggie Bush Bush rushed 15 times for 155 yards and 2 tds. His long 80 yard td run early in the 4th put the game away. Bush has played very good the last two weeks and looks to help keep the saints playoff hopes alive with Brees having a off season.
