Saints Rip NFCS from Bucs - Win 6th StraightNew Orlenas, LA - Savage Mason Reporting NO and TB both came into week 11 at 6-4 and battling it out for the NFCS lead. Both teams battled it out down in Tampa, which watched the Bucs and Saints have a defensive battle which watched the Bucs win on a last second fg. Saints had won 5 in a row and were looking to take back what was theirs in the lead for the NFCS. Saints would win toss and elect to defer. Bucs would get the ball and 3 and out. Actually both teams would take some punts before someone got on the board. Bucs were using a lot of motion to start on offense and a lot of blitzing on d, but then swapped attacks later in the game and changed as the game went on. Saints would get on the board with a 44 yard fg from Hartley, 3-0 Saints. Bucs would come right back and get it down close, saints D would come up with 3 huge stops and force a 23 yard Barth fg. 3-3 tie with 3 mins to go in the 2nd half. Saints would get a very nice drive going with some huge 3rd downs and finally punch it in with a 10 yard rumble from FB Evans for the 10-3 lead going into half time. Saints would get the ball half way through the 3rd quarter and begin to drive the ball to extend the lead. Bush would take it in from 17 yards out for his biggest run of the day. 17-3 Saints. The 4th quarter would get super crazy. Saints were looking to put the game away and the Bucs were looking to climb back into it. Hartley would take on a 23 yard and a 20 yard fg with some very nice drives, but just weren't able to connect for a td. Saints would have a 23-3 lead with under 6 mins to go in the game. Bucs would score with 3:32 left to go on a 2 yard pass from Freeman to Winslow to tighten the game, but time was running out quickly. Saints would burn some clock on their next drive but were forced to punt on some great Dline play from Shiftee. Saints would pick up 2 back to back sacks to bring up a 4th and 23 with less than 1 min to go in the game. Saints would come out in a prevent D and Freeman would hit Benn on a 51 yard unbelievable pass play for the td to make it 23-17 Saints. Saints would recover the onside and kill the clock for their 6th straight W and the NFCS lead. Scoring Summary: Player & Team Stats on the game: Great game @shiftee. JenkinsJenkins would come up with 2 huge INTs and the Saints defense as a whole played amazing today. 23 yards rushing for the Bucs top rusher and some great plays on the passing defense also. Saints need the D to step up, Bush is playing good, and now we just need Brees to step it up.
