St. Louis, MO - The suffering of the St. Louis Franchise took a gut punch as they lost a game to the New England Patriots largely due to two suspicious roughng the passer calls that ended up costing them the game. In the aftermath of that game, the Rams had to welcome the undefeated Tampa Buccaneers to the dilapidated Edward Jones Stadium. While the foreclosure signs and Environmental Protection agency were actively protesting the stadium and the concessions stands, the Rams decided to play some of their best football of the season. Thanks in large part to the play of journey man cornerback Kyle Arrington and the legs of Tavon Austin, St. Louis beat the Bucs, 24-10 to even their record at 2-2.

The Rams used their usual recipe for success (or destruction depending on your perspective). That means a heavy dose of the running game with the occassional shot downfield. The Rams were able to use the legs of Zac Stacy to keep the clock moving. Stacy had a pedestrian 63 yards on 21 carries but did manage to find the endzone to get the Rams on the scoreboad. While the running game the game manageable, it was the often lucky play of Alex Smith that kept the Rams in front. Smith twice found Tavon Austin on deep passes that went for touchdowns that kept the Bucs defense off step.

Defensively, Kyle Arrington played perhaps his finest game as a pro. The Free Agent pickup managed to pick three passes on the day included a final sideline grab that sealed the win agains the former undefeated and #1 ranked Bucs. Chris Long managed to 6 tackles on the day including 3 sacks of Kyler Barnes to help contain Tampa's offense.

The Rams head to Buffalo to take on the Bills in non conference action while Tampa heads to the other side of Missouri to take on the Chiefs.

    Good game Jeremy-
