    Wk 7: Giants 35 Cards 28

Giants silence critics and get back to the win column! In a hard fought, muddy game, the Giants were able to hold off the 4-2 Cardinals to move to 2-5 on the season. Looking to regain confidence, the Giants gave it everything they had....knowing if they lost, it was definitely all over. The GMen went up 21-0 in the first quarter, then a d/c caused the game to be replayed. With a 28-7 lead at the half the Giants looked good, but knew they had given up leads before. A 14-0 3rd quarter for the Cards began to clear the seats in New Meadowlands Stadium as the fans felt like another loss due to a choke was imminent, however, the Giants had something else to say. Eli continued to struggle finding open receivers, going 8 for 20, but the man in the backfield had a great day for the offense. Stewart ran for 132 yards on 23 carries with 1 TD. WR Steve Smith caught 4 receptions for 103 yards and 2 TDs on the day. The defense played better than they have all season, despite almost giving it away. MLB David Harris managed 8 tackles, 4 for a loss and 1 sack. ROLB Sintim had 7 tackles for himself but also forced an interception and a fumble recovery. FS Ed Reed forced two fumbles and made a miraculous one handed interception in the endzone that stopped the momentum for Arizona. In all the Giants defense forced 5 turnovers (3 fumbles, 2 ints).

GG Bates, tough luck with the fumbles

    Bjoern was human today.

It was like the Cards lose rating points across board playing in the rain. Protection wouldn't hold up...tackles were being missed...dropped ints...Sloppy routes...and the worst was the fumbles. Between the 1st game with the d/c and 2nd game, the Cards fumbled 6 times.

GG. Hoping for a 49er loss to Redskins...
