WK4: Redskins (24) at Patriots (27) Jerod Mayo and the Patriots defense hold firm as Bironas sends New England to 4-0. Mayo and the Pats harassed Campbell all game with constant pressure. Foxboro, MA Skins started out the first quarter on a long drive that would have ended in a field goal but a running into the kicker call against Welker would give them another shot for seven which they would finish with a Johnson 1 yard TD run (7-0). Patriots would come out looking to establish Gore and the ground game which looked promising early. They finished off their first drive in the second quarter with Brady throwing to Moss in a crowd for a 11 yard TD pass (7-7). Patriots would stop the Redskins on their next possession and Brady would capitalize off a Redskins all out blitz to connect with B.Watson from 32 yards out (7-14). Campbell would find J.Davis who would get the Redskins into scoring position before the quarter ended and Davis would finish it with a 5 yard run (14-14). With :43 second left before the half that was just too much time for Brady as he would move the Pats into field goal range for Bironas to add 3 more (14-17). Second half Brady would see the Redskins in a all out blitz again and would connect with A.Phelps who broke a lone tackle to take it 65 yards for the score. (14-24). Redskins came with a plan and that was to keep the Patriots offense off the field eating up clock with a 21:15 to 10:45 in time of possession. After converting on some key 4th downs in the second half they would find themselves with a tied ball game at (24-24). Brady would have the ball for one last shot at glory but Redskins would force the Patriots to punt. It was up to Jerod Mayo and the Patriots defense to get the ball back for Brady. Campbell found himself under heavy pressure and could not convert on 3rd down something they struggle with all game. Redskins would punt the ball in hopes to get it back but Brady spoiled those plans converting on some big 3rd downs none bigger than the 2nd and 22 that Brady was able to convert on 3rd down. That would setup Bironas for the game winner as time expired (24-27).
