    Whats good gents. I hope that all of you are doing well and enjoying the hiatus from PSN!

    With that said, just curious who in the league has a 360 and who would be willing to move to the XBOX platform if the league went in that direction. I know a lot of you humps have both systems, but I also know that some of you do not (myself included). I, personally, will be purchasing a 360 in the near future which will include trading in my PS3 for good. I certainly do not expect all of you to do the same, nor am I asking you to. Just curious who would make the change if it were to occur as I will not be a part of a PS3 league for M12. I've made this post w/out talking to Eddie about it, so he may be indifferent about the topic. Regardless, I'm gauging interest to see who would make the jump to 360 if it were available.

    Please reply with one of the following responses to the question posed below if you could. Thanks!

    A. = 10 (PepperNY, Pittrocks, MoonBBad, Pacalon, Bradkaz, Casino, Andyman, Kris, CHUNKNESS, Scikotic)

    B. = 0

    C. = 0

    D. = 13 (Hulk_Hagen_55, bamagrad, thafuture, LtJustice, Hoodiii, Bigsmooth, Jaged, Warhawk, Redlishus, Gutcheck, dablakpope, TWOtons, Miki)

    D. i do not plan on getting a xbox.

    im sorry to hear that i wont be able to participate in the pmfl anymore. i wish the league only the best.
    as for the psn, i feel that sure its been a while w/o online features, but at the same time really whats a month in the whole scheme of things. people go absolutly bonkers if they dont have online play for a few days. i just say relax and let them do their work to get back and running. a hack is an expected yet unpredictable happening. is it honestly worth jumping ship on a product when the other is also prone to the same thing? i dunno, just my two cents

    I do not disagree with you, Aaron. I had actually planned on getting a 360 prior to the PSN debacle. The recent turn of events was the jumping off point for me. Quite honestly, I don't have any loyalties toward Sony or Microsoft, so it makes no difference to me which system I have. The only regret I have is that I know that I won't be able to play with the same "band of brothers" that I once did. We will keep in touch.

    D. No. I do not have a 360 and I do not plan on getting one.

    I am definitely disappointed to hear the news. Just the way my week has been going, the hits keep on coming ;).

    I agree with Aaron as far as the PSN thing goes, just chalk it up to "shit happens". Even if I wanted to get one, 360 unfortunately doesn't fit into my plans this year. But really, while I'm no Sony apologist, my past experiences with the Xbox brand have really made me never seriously consider purchasing one.

    People ask my opinion all the time and I always say the same thing; I'm no fanboy, if you want a 360, that's cool. For my money, if I can only own one, I'm sticking with the PS3.

    So, like I said, it sucks, but you gotta do what you think is right for you.

    A. Yes I have a 360

    I believe this would be a good move for PMFL because the online expiereince is alot better on Xbox Live then it is on PSN. If I can be of assistance to answer any questions about Xbox that any of you may have let me know as I have had an Xbox 360 since it launched back in 2005.

    I agree with Aaron and Jim on this one, chalking it up to "shit happens". Although I think Sony completely F'd up with how they handled the situation, it's just one of those things they weren't prepared for and consumers had to pay. Will it happen again? Maybe. who knows it may even happen to Microsoft in the future but I personally don't see that as a reason for me to jump ship. Everyone I play with owns a ps3 so that alone keeps my allegiance. A little disappointing to know that the PMFL may no longer exist but you gotta do what you gotta do.

    well if that's true, then its been fun. I had a Xbox back in the dinosaur days and it finally bit the dust with screen freezing and then not ejecting my game. I've been a PS'er since the 1 days and continue to do that. It sucks with what happened and hopefully it will be back at the end of the month. I'll still be here either way.

    I have both systems, so either way I'm good to go. Sucks it has to come to this because we have a good group here in PMFL.

    Chalk me up for D.

    I have no plans on getting an XBox.

    The only way I'd move over is if there were no PS3 Madden Leagues left on TSO... If that happened, that would be :doodie:

    This is not the outcome I had expected. I figured a ton of you goons had the Xbox as well. Perhaps we can figure out what's best for PMFL and find a way to keep everyone happy. I personally loved playing with all you guys, so I'd hate to see the split.

    Unless their's been big changes that would convince me to buy an Xbox, But i know Microsoft products don't last as long as Sony's. specially in Gaming Machines. If PMFL moves to Xbox, then best of Luck to everyone that moves with them. If not then I'll be ready for the 12 release. I can understand the concern specially with what happened. But not having Online is not gonna convince me to trade in my Ps3 to get a Xbox.

    What do you mean by that? It's a pretty false statement. The launch units had a bit of issues, but even the majority of them were fine. I had a launch unit that lasted 3 years before failure, and promptly bought a new 360 afterward. The new slim ones have a REALLY low failure rate, even lower than the PS3. And it actually works online! Having both units I can say the 360 reliability thing is in the past and is no longer an issue at all. I've had more trouble with our PS3 than I have with my 360.

    A. Yes. I have a 360.

    I have both so I'm flexible. To piggy back what Pacalon said, 360 don't fail like the launch consoles did. And I've also learn how to fix them so mine has lasted quite a while. Most 360 stop working because they get dusty inside. I've fixed 5 of them by just opening them up and cleaning them out. After that, works like new again. There is a reason why PS3's network was hit this way. Because Sony wasn't investing much money in their servers security. Something that Microsoft have been doing already for years. I expect at some point, Sony will start to charge also which I don't have a problem with if it means sound secure servers! It's disappointing that the league could split over this. Hoping that more of you can seriously think about getting a 360 if we move there.

    That's what I meant Durability, I still own my original sony Ps1 2 and 3's and have not had the issues alot of people have said they had with Sony. Now for Microsoft. The Original Xbox I had was Bad and did not last even a yr. course i wasn't the only one in that. and I've heard plenty on the 360. screen freezing to not even loading the disc and then dying. No doubt that the Online features are pretty kool. I like the after game chat room, Its good to hear that the slim units are doing well.

    My impression was that Doug is going with Xbox for Madden 12 and just wanted to see who is going with him, I don't think this was intended to be an Xbox vs Playstation discussion, but I could be wrong. I gave up having that discussion a long time ago, it seems like you'd be better off talking politics ;). I already gave my answer and I don't see it changing. I have my preferences, but would I like to have both systems? Sure I would, I'm a tech geek and would love to have everything techy that comes out. But I am in a position to only have one of them and I won't be getting rid of my PS3 any time soon. I, for one, will be getting Madden 12 regardless and am looking forward to it. Hopefully I'll be seeing many of you on it, to continue the friendships and rivalries we've built over the years.

    Exactly, Jim. Quite honeslty, I could care less about the 360 vs. PS3 debate. It's like arguing pussy and politics. Both of which I really have no interest in partaking in a discussion about.

    The purpose of my communication was that I was trading in my PS3 for a 360, and therefore, wouldn't have the capability to roll with PMFL on the PS3 platform. I reiterate that my original communication was w/out speaking to Eddie who I already knew owns a 360. Therefore, my assumption was that if he and I wanted to keep the league going jointly (which is pretty much a must for us), we would move to the XBOX platform. It was NOT my intent to recruit people to purchase a 360 to remain in the league and/or disband anyone who is already involved with the PS3 league. Rather, it was to find out who in the league owns a 360 and would participate in the league if it were offered on that platform. It was also to give all of you enough notice that I would not be continuing with the league on the PS3 platform. By all means, any of you can take the reigns and move forward with the PS3 league. Once again, that is assuming that Eddie would not want to operate the league, or at least, not alone. Our family lives just do not allow for either of us to run the league individually. That's just the way it is.

    Now, contrary to what some have assumed, my decision to change from owning a PS3 to a 360 was not soley because of the PSN debacle. Rather, it was a decision in the making since last year and the PSN hack job was the catalyst for me to make the change. I have several friends here at home who own 360's (which operate just fine I might add) and do not own PS3's. I'm of the minority in my direct group of friends, so I am unable to play a lot of online games with them unless I go to their house. I have no loyalties toward Sony or Microsoft and I truly have no need to own both systems other than to have the capability to play on both platforms. I don't want to sound like I don't care about the league, because I do. But I also need to be able to justify the expense of having both systems to a wife (and kids) who don't completely understand my online gaming "obsession" in the first place. More particularly, they can't get a grasp on my Madden league involvement. I may as well get some value for my PS3 and pick up a system that I know I will be able to use for Madden leagues AND with the rest of my direct circle of friends.

    This has been a decision that I have been struggling with for a very long time because I consider most, if not all, of YOU my friends. It's just one of those situations where I'm forced to choose one over the other. It has to make economic sense for me, my wife, and my family. I'm not looking for charity, nor am I asking for people to feel sorry for me. It's a choice that I'm making and if anything, I apologize to those of you who I'm leaving behind. So, with that said, I hope it answers some of your questions as to why my post was made.
