No one wants a piece of Oregon when they are playing at home.

The Berta era is well underway at Brigham Young. In his first week at the helm, the now-independent BYU Cougars took on long-time conference foe Air Force. Berta deployed a devastating 4-3 defense and a ball control spread offense, displaying the potential to be a very dangerous and explosive team. The Cougar defense scored two touchdowns, one on a 55-yard fumble return by Graham Rowley after a hard-hitting sack from Romney Fuga and the other a 91-yard interception return from Preston Hadley. With the offense chewing up 17 minutes of game clock, JJ DiLuigi rushed 12 times for 75 yards and Joshua Quezada added 10 carries for 44 yards. Star quarterback Jake Heaps was very efficient, completing 14 of 21 passes for 147 yards. The Cougars look to continue their dominance next week, heading to Corvallis to take on the Beavers of Oregon State.

The Florida State Seminoles out muscle the UL-Monroe Hawks in their season opener. The 'Noles running game was too much as HB Chris Thompson paced the offense gaining 200+ yards behind arguably one of the best O-Lines in the nation. QB E.J. Manuel came out sluggish but luckily his arm wasn't needed that much but he came through with some clutch 3rd conversions through the air. The 'Noles will host the Red Wolves at Doak Campbell next week hoping to continue their winning ways.

#2 Crimson Tide Cruises in Opener

The Crimson Tide cruised to an easy 28-7 win over the Golden Flashes from Kent State. After seeing the Flashes tie the game at 7-7 late in the 1st Qtr, the 2nd ranked Crimson Tide cranked up the defensive pressure a shut down the Kent St offense. The Crimson Tide who were breaking in a new starting QB keeps the offense fairly simple and used large doses of Trent Richardson as he rushed for 139 and 2 TDs on the day. The Alabama defense closed out the scoring for the day when Dee Milliner picked off a Spencer Keith pass and returned it 37 yards for a TD. Next up for the 2nd ranked Crimson Tide is a showdown with #1 ranked Oklahoma and Coach Sabo.

Duck Logo.jpg had a bye in week one, Coach Stewart was spotted out late in a bar watching the Saints/Packers game, after a long day on the recruiting trail. He's reportedly heading to the Houston Area to focus his recruiting efforts, this weekend.

In a shoot out, michigan beats western. Not happy about this game. Froze the first time, sent the vid to sabo when i was up 41-3, then freeze again, then freeze at highlights. This game sucks.

Overall it was a shoot out, Denard gets hurt when someone looks at him. incredibly frustrated couldn't stop western worth anything. Really sucked.

So i lost denard for two weeks, and my starting rb for 9 weeks. These injuries in this game are getting out of control.

Game was over by half. We put up 21 points in the first quarter and 21 in the second. Starters pulled after the first drive of the 3rd quarter and we were kneeling the ball starting the 4th quarter. The Vols travel to Pasadena next week to get revenge on a UCLA squad that handed them an embarrassing overtime loss back in 2008.

Overcoming a slow start the Irish were able to score 35 unanswered against rival Purdue.

My summary will suck for week 1. The game froze while uploading the highlights and i couldnt get any stats or pics from the wire.
Oklahoma opened the 2011 season with a 28-14 victory over Tulsa. The Sooners appeared to work through their offseason rust in the first quarter and continue on to the victory.

    Final score
    OU 28
    Tulsa 14

Better recap next week. Week 2 the Sooners welcome the Crimson Tide to Norman in what is sure to be a slugfest.

UCLA open with an ugly win in the heat and humidity of Houston. Bruin QB Kevin Prince threw 3tds in the victory while slot WR Josh Smith took advantage of coverage from Cougar linebackers and safties to the tune of 170yds. The Cougar offense had no answer for an attacking Bruin defense, SS Deitrich Riley would seal the game in the 4th return a pick in the endzone 103yds for the score.

    UCLA Game Stats
    K. Prince 13-26 252yds 3tds 1int
    J. Franklin 11car 36yds
    J. Smith 5rec 170yds 2tds
    T. Dye 8tkls 2TFL

Coach Maij Quote after the game:
" The Team really showed well with early adversity, and played well under the heat. Offensively we need to run the ball better, playcalling got away from the run game in the second half after we saw Josh had a mismatch, expect us to give a few more feeds to Jet and lay the hammer with HB Derrick Coleman."
