GREENVILLE, NC -- After a tough, tough last week to a less than UTEP team the Golden Eagles were able to bounce back and secure the win against ECU. Southern Miss lost their way a little last week veering from their run heavy offense and airing it out more then than would want. This week it was back to business as So Miss ran the ball 50 times and only passed 7 times. K. Hardy led the way and contiuned his run for the Heisman with another impressive outing, but the key to the game was the play of Sr QB Austin Davis. Davis did this week what he couldnt do last week and that was control the game. He made all the right reads in the running and passing game, and most imporantly didnt turn over the ball. However, as impressive as the Golden Eagles were on offense, the game ball goes to the defense. They held the nations leading passer to only 19-51 passing for 274 while giving up only one score and forcing a timely interception.

Next week the Golden Eagles will play host to UCF (currently sitting in the #1 spot in C-USA East) and is a must win if they have any hopes at making a run for the title.

Fresno St beats La Tech (without Oniowa) 42-14 for there 3rd win of the year. Strong D and a balanced attack set the pace for the bulldogs as we play the most complet game of the year. If we can win our last 3 we will have a chance of getting to a bowl. Robbie Rouse went over the 1000 yard mark rushing for the year if he comes back next year watch out big things will be expected.
