After Coach Berta had to take a leave of absence for personal reasons, the Rams returned to Hughes Stadium with their coach back on the sideline for a key Mountain West battle against San Diego State. Colorado State showed rust early, falling behind 17-7 at halftime. Down 24-7 to start the fourth, the Rams abandoned the spread offense that had gotten them to a 7-2 record for a pro-styled offense. Backup quarterback Nico Ranieri filled in admirably for incumbent starter Pete Thomas, as Thomas was concussed on the first play of the fourth quarter. Ranieri led the new-look Rams' offense, connecting on all four of his passing attempts for 170 yards and two touchdowns while rushing four times for eight yards, including a key third down conversion and the game-winning score. Star receiver Lou Greenwood proved to be the difference in the fourth, catching two balls for 121 yards. Greenwood's first catch went 60 yards for a TD off of a jailbreak screen, while his second was a 61 yard post to set up Ranieri's game-winning rush. The Rams now control their own destiny in the Mountain West with Air Force and Wyoming left on the schedule.

    Great game capp34

    CMU 17 over OHIO - 13

The 8-1 Bobcat came in to face the 7-3 Chippewas. This game was a battle. Falling behind 10-0 in Q1 the chippewas were up against it. In the 2nd half radcliff started to get going with deep pass connection to paris cotton down the middle of the field. Later, a clutch catch by Fraser running a deep post with a slant from impact player Wilson coming underneath catching the safety in no mans land for a 32 yard TD. CMU benefitted from 3 ohio FGs misses on the day. Two of which he stood no chance in the snow and wind, however, little hilter solitch told the young man to kick it anyways, if he misses, he's walking from Mt. Pleasant back to Athens Ohio. Paris Cotton sealed the game with a 13 yard option run up the middle for the go ahead score. What a battle.

Coach Delia reminded himself after to game to stay off the phone while trying to win.

GG man but you were not down 24-7 it was 17 -7 then you cut it to 17-14 then you went up 21-17 then I went back up 24 -21 then you took the lead for good with like a minute and some change left 28-24. Nevertheless it was a great game and a great comeback I knew those 2 red zone picks in the first half were gonna come back and bit me in the ass. Good luck the rest of the way and Im looking forward to the rematch next year.

That's exactly what I thought too...but I read the Box Score on DW and it said it was 24-7 at one point. I must have misread it.

Edit: Definitely misread it. You are completely accurate in your account.

The Golden Eagles drop a heartbreaker in the final seconds. After their start QB goes down early in the game it was on the shoulders of the backup to led the team to victory. With 20 seconds left and the Golden Eagles knocking on the door an errant pass sailed too high over the wide open crossing route and into a UCF defenders hands. Game over. Theeee most lopeside box score means nothing if you cant make the big plays when you need to, and Southern Miss couldnt seal the deal. A conference title run is now out of their hands and into UCF's hand. If UCF can win just 1 of their remaining 2 games they will head to the C-USA title game. Southern Miss must win out and hope UCF drops its remaining two games.

Trojans Storm Back from 10 Down to Defeat North Texas

After failing behind to North Texas 10-0 early in the 2nd qtr the Trojans finally got their offense kick started and began to work their way back int the game. Troy scored mid way thru the 2nd qtr when Southward got loose on a 55 yard TD run to cut the North Texas lead to 10-7. The Trojans got a lucky break right before the half when they connected on a 39 yard TD pass to take the lead 14-10 going into the half. In the 2nd half the Trojans defense finally settled down and began to make plays as they intercepted 2 pass and held North Texas scoreless in the 2nd half. The unsung hero of the game for the Trojans was Nathan Hendrickson, a 3rd string HB, who would not allow North Texas to flip the field on punts by returning for an average of 28 yard per return. Southward ended the game with 19 carries for 222 yards and 3 TDs.

It was a great game and Tiger played great and I look forwarded to next years game if we are still both in the Sun Belt.

Well fellas Fresno Won again this week over New Mexico ST 35-10 Feels good to win 4 in a row after losing 6 straight. with 2 very winnable games left vs Hawaii and San Jose St. We could finish the reg season 6-6 and maybe squeak into a bowl game. This week HB Robbie Rouse carries the team on his shoulders again Carrying 26x for 127 and 3 scores (no respect all year for Robbie who is 5th in the nation in rushing yards and tied for 1st in TDs.) he has been a stud performer all year maybe not the big 2 and 300 yard games but every game he is over 100 even when we was getting pounded. Defense stepped up allowing under 50 yards on the ground. Was not the best win but we will take it.
