    -BERTA CONTINUES WINNING WAYS-

    [IMG][IMG]

The Berta era in Provo continues its fast start as the Cougars take down Oregon State 14-7 in Corvallis. The defense was once again dominant, allowing just 7 points and 207 yards of total offense. The running game was very effective, with J.J. DiLuigi rushing 17 times for 125 yards and 1 TD. Sophomore Sensation Jake Heaps had an off day, completing just 9 of 20 passes. Heaps did add the go-ahead rushing touchdown, however, in the second quarter. While this is a big win for a program on the rise, BYU also suffered a huge loss this Saturday. Jake Heaps left the game after a failed third down conversion late in the fourth quarter. X-rays have revealed that Heaps has indeed broken his collarbone and will miss the remainder of his sophomore season. Berta will look to Redshirt Junior Riley Nelson to fill the void, starting next week in a pivotal rivalry game when the Cougars host in-state power Utah.

    Florida State 48

Florida State Seminoles took care of business in their week 2 contest against the Red Wolves of Arkansas State using the ground game. The 'Noles offensive line dominated the point of attack all game long and bullied the Red Wolves front 7 all game long. QB E.J. Manuel looked a bit more crisp in his 2nd outing as the Seminoles starting signal caller throwing for 3 TD's and amassing 200+ yards. The defense came out a little sluggish in the 1st half but settled down late and essentially shut down every measure of attack from the Red Wolves but did allow 2 scores. Sophomore FS LaMarcus Joyner sparked the defense in the 1st half with a pick 6 to get the 'Noles scoring started. DE Brandon Jenkins was in the Arkansas State backfield all game long gaining 2 big tackles for losses and a bone shattering sack of Red Wolves QB Ryan Alpin sending him to the sidelines for a few plays to re-gather his thoughts with the help of the Arkansas State trainers. The Seminoles have a bye week in week 3 to prepare for their ACC opener with Clemson Tigers in week 4.

***(I got the "transfer failed" message again during upload to the dynasty wire so I'm hoping this isn't a sign of post patch problems but I think it's affecting my highlights and upload to the dynasty wire because my game details were not available on the website but I think the game results should count)

Tiger171 I had the same issue, will add my summary later

It wasn't a pretty game, but the Iowa Hawkeye special teams and defense made some big plays, including two touchdowns, that would help propel the team to a 41-38 win and bring the Cy-Hawk Trophy back to Iowa City. Iowa State went up by 14 early after a pick six thrown by Iowa QB James Vandenberg, but Iowa would fight back and eventuall take the lead. Late in the 4th quarter, Iowa State scored with just over a minute left to tie the game, but the Hawkeyes would fight back, with the ball on the State 1 yard line with :03 left, Kicker Mike Myers sealed the deal for the Hawkeyes.

    Iowa - 41
    Iowa State - 38

Miss ST came down to the plains of Auburn and took a butt whipping After no score in the 1st QT Auburn EXPLODES for 28 in the 2nd. QB Trotter found Reed 2x on big scores and Dyer ran one in and the D got a score on a Fumble as well. 3rd QT Miss ST scores there only points of the game in a pick 6. Trotter on his last pass of the day connects with Reed again for there 3rd TD hookup of the game. We put it on cruise control till the end

Michigan has it's first night game beating their rivals, Notre Dame, 20-14. This was a sloppy offensive game for both teams. Not getting any traction, michigan through the ball late to roundtree on a streak route where he got behind the safety for a score right before half to tie the game 7-7 on a 3rd and 16 play. Later, Gardner running the triple option was able to break lose for a 50 yarder to go up 17-7. Michigan tacked on another field goal after coach capp was forced to go for it deep in his own territory being down two scores. Michigan ran the ball to eat up clock. After the FG, coach capp was able to get a guy loose, eventually being caugh on the 5 yard line. Two plays later coach capp threw for a TD making it 20-14 with 16 seconds left. Michigan recovers the onside and kneels to seal the game. Was a crazy sloppy game where I didn't have my starting heisman possibility Denard Robinson. Glad to get the W.

Yeah, I'm hoping the patch didn't fix that problem where the injuries don't stick. Big loss for me.
