A Game of the Week with two teams that are winless?!? Absolutely. If you want a slug fest get your popcorn ready... because these two teams are desperate for their first win. The euphoria of the off season is gone and reality has set in. Can Air Force's option attack catch an athletic and skilled Boise State off guard? Can the Bronco's get back on track and live up to the off season hype that was placed upon them? It's anyone's guess but it's gonna be a hell of a game either way!!!

Falcons Hold on to Win a Nail Bitter
The 0-2 Falcons traveled to Boise to face a Bronco team that reeling from an 0-2 start as well. The game started well for the Falcons and looked to be in hand as they entered the lockers for the half up 14-0 but there is a reason the Broncos have been a BCS buster teams for several seasons. In the 3rd Qtr the Broncos got their passing game going as they cut thru the Falcons secondary and closed the score to 14-7 with a quarter and a half to play. Te two defense continued to control the game until Boise started a drive late in the 4th Qtr that ended with 54 yard TD pass with 49 seconds left to tie the game at 14-14. The Falcons looked to respond and get in FG range but were going to do it without taking any chances knowing that at the worst they would go to OT. The Falcons connected on a couple big passes and with 2 seconds renaming lined up for the game winning 41 yard FG. The Broncos called time and that allowed the Falcon kicker to relax knowing he within his range. The kicked sailed true and Air Force held on for their first win of the year 17-14 over Boise State.

Rebels Squeak By For 1st Win

Las Vegas, NV - The Chippewas traveled down to hot and sunny Vegas this week to take on the UNLV in a battle of struggling programs. After 2 weeks, UNLV ranked 125th in total defense and expectations of winning even a single game were quite low. The Rebels certainly didn't help perceptions at the start of this game. UNLV got the ball first but ended up punting and it was Central Michigan who would strike first and quickly. After that though, the Rebels showed that they may actually have a football team this year. UNLV would control the majority of the rest of the game, but the lack of a capable kicker kept it tight. The Rebels would miss 2 FGs short in the first half and allowed CMU to lead 17-14 at halftime. In the 2nd half though, UNLV's kicker would come through for 3 FGs including the game winning FG with no time remaining.

The Cowboys had a huge task in taking down Vtech but luckily the game was at home. That home field advantage really paid as tech offense was very stagnant. The Cowboy defense held the Hokies under 200 yards total. The offense played very poised and kept the ball and the clock moving. This was a big win before conference games started.
