    Southern Miss 31 - Marshall 21
Special teams seals the victory for the Golden Eagles
    [IMG]

HUNTINGTON, WV (AP) -- In a game that was back and forth throughout, there was really only one thing that separated these two teams.... special teams play. Field position was at a premium for all 4 quarters and So Miss was able to down 4 punts inside the 20. But that wasn't the biggest special teams play of the game, that came on kick return. Return specialist William Spight was able to take 2 kick offs back to the house on his way to almost 300 return yards (kr & pr).

    -Stats that Matter-

**dynasty wire hasnt loaded up yet for some reason**

    -Player of the Game-

Returner William Spight: 2 kick off returns for TDs which was ultimately the difference in the game

    Ruston, LA -

It was a pretty sight in Ruston this week as the Bulldogs finally recorded their first win of the season over Buffalo. "We still have a lot of work to do, but this is definitely a step in the right direction," said Coach E. Tech was lead by HB Lennon Creer who had 17 carries for 102 yards and 3 TD. Creer hadn't gotten many looks the first two weeks, but with a performance like that, I'm sure he will be getting plenty more touches in games to come. Week 4 will provide another tough challenge as the pass heavy offense of Houston comes to town. Louisiana Tech will look to contain Keenum as they were unable to do the same to Padron and SMU in Week 1 of the season.

Ft. Collins--The new regime at Colorado State is off to a solid start, improving to 2-1 against Central Michigan. Sophomore quarterback Pete Thomas stepped up after a disappointing second start, completing 10 of 19 passes for 131 yards and 1 TD. Sophomore Chris Nwoke carried the load once again, rushing 22 times for 84 yards and 2 TDs. Junior Dominique Vinson sealed the victory with two key interceptions, one of which setting up the game-winning TD. The Rams will travel to Hattiesburg to take on undefeated Southern Miss in a regionally televised game next week.

SDSU Outlasts Army behind Hillman 173 yd 3TD performance

This was a dogfight the entire game with Army making big play after big play whether it was on the ground or through the air Army definitely had advantage on big plays with almost all of them coming on big plays. SDSU went away from the passing game to take advantage of the running game. This was by far the best game on the ground for me personally I was able to run inside and outside with effectiveness. The Defense looked better this week but was still giving up big plays in the passing game which should not happen vs Army but we were able to survive a pick up win. Now 2-1 SDSU is looking beat WSU before entering conference play.

    Air Force 9

The Vandals improve to 2-1, notching another win in the Kibbie Dome over Air Force. Defense was the story, the Vandals would hold the Falcons vaulted option attack in check, next week the Vandals will try and turn the college world on its head when they travel to College Station, TX to face #8 ranked Texas A&M Aggies.
