Kalamazoo Mich. -- The Chippewas walk into Brownturd stadium and punk the browncows. Paris Cotton goes crazy on 28 carries for 250+ Yards and 2 TDs. Overall CMU rushed for TDs and 462 yards! Western had no answers. After the game Coach Dream was asked why he went for two three times during the game "Because I couldn't go for three", stealing the line from Woody Hayes vs Michigan. This is Coach Cubit's 6th straight loss to the chippewas. Makes you wonder about his future.

HATTIESBURG, MS--Taking the road for the first time, Coach Berta and the Colorado State Rams looked clearly out of their element. The Rams were absolutely dismantled at the hands of the undefeated Southern Miss Golden Eagles, losing 30-7. Allowing 227 yards on the ground and possessing the ball for half of the time of their opponents, CSU heads back to Ft. Collins embarrassed. Catching up to Coach Berta after the game, he discussed major changes, saying that this loss "forces us to reevaulate the direction of the entire program," pointing out that "losses are okay, but this kind of loss can't happen." The Rams will travel to Utah State next week, looking to rebound in a big way.

    Southern Miss 30 - Colorado State 7

    Golden Eagles continue to role

HATTIESBURG, MS (AP) -- The Golden Eagles made it 4 straight as they continue to ride on the back of SO RB Kendrick Hardy. But as the saying goes, "offense doesnt win championships, defense does" and So Miss had plenty of defense as well. Colorado State had a hard time getting both the running game and passing game going, as Southern Miss' defense played the best game of this early season forcing 4 turnovers (3int/1fum) and holding a potent Colorado State offense to only 7 points on the game.

    -Stats that Matter-

    So Miss TOP: 18:14

    Colorado State TOP: 09:46

    So Miss Rushing: 227 yards

    Colorado State Rushing: 76 yards

    -Player of the Game-

    Ruston, LA -

The Bulldogs definitely were not outplayed in this one, it would be their secondary that would inevitably be the downfall. Louisiana Tech was in the game for the majority of it, but their secondary got burned play in and play out, making it essentially impossible for the team to come out of this one with a win. Hopefully a bye week will do the team some good. Lennon Creer would be the man of the day for the Bulldogs, rushing for a total of 3 TD. In the end QB Keenum of Houston was just too much to handle and the final score was

    Louisiana Tech - 39
    Houston - 45

It took three quarters for the offense to come alive and thank fully the right time. After giving up three quick touchdowns to begin the second half SDSU coach capp34 rallied the troops and we were able to score the next 28 points unanswered for the comeback win.

Trojans Come Up Short Versus Hawgs

Troy fought toe to toe with SEC power Arkansas only to fade late in the 2nd half as the Hawgs began to wear down the Trojans. Troy was able to pull within 7 late but could not get the needed stop on defense and the 15th ranked Hawgs escaped with a 21-14 win.

Idaho would travel to College Station and be brought back to reality. The Vandals were no match for #8 Texas A&M as the game ended up being a blowout. Idaho would keep it close in the 1st Half but the Aggies depth and talent would reign supreme in the second half. Idaho bright spots would be the play of HB Princeton McCarthy and WR Justin Veltung who combined for over 300 all purpose yards, but turnovers would be the story of defeat for the Vandals. Look for Idaho to bounce back next week, when the host Fresno State in their WAC Conf. opener.
