Blue Raiders drop to 0-4 after 51-21 loss to Tennessee

MTSU showed progress offensively, but still struggled defensively in a 51-21 loss at home. The defense allowed over 600 yards of total offense including 3 TDs of over 45 yards. "We can't continue to play this poorly on offense and expect to win any ball games. Our front isn't putting any pressure on the QB and the DBs are just overwhelmed at this point. We've really got to pick it up on defense to be successful." The Blue Raiders did connect on two long scoring plays in the game, but the running game continues to struggle. "We're finding ourselves down big early and it trickles over onto the offense. We are being forced to throw the ball more than we should and we aren't as balanced as I'd like." MTSU did get a spark early in the second quarter with a 96 yard kickoff return for a TD by Harold Turner Jr. Drops once again hurt starting QB Logan Kilgore. Two key 3rd down conversions failed after open receivers dropped passes. After the fourth quarter started Coach Bishop went to his second team offense/defense. ut.1.PNG

UMass still looking for its first win of the season after losing 45-17 to Miami University. Coach E was found saying after the game that he was going to search the campus for a few students who can catch the ball and give them scholarships.

SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- The Roadrunners have finally started to hit the ground running with there new pistol/shotgun read option offense as they were clicking on all cylinders versus Fresno State this afternoon. QB Eric Soza continues to prove that he can beat you with his arm as well as his legs putting up career numbers so far this season. MLB Steven Kurfehs continues to anchor the defense recording 8 tackles and a sack. The Roadrunners will open up conference play next week against the gunslingers from the west, the New Mexico State Aggies.

The Golden Flash traveled to Buffalo looking to extend their record to 3-1 on the year. But despite over 450 yards of offense the Kent State offense struggles inside the 20 yard line at cost themselves the game. But the credit goes to HAL9100 and his defense coaches as they did what they need to do to get the win. Some conservative play calling in the redzone when they thought they had the game in hand also led to Bulls snatching the win away from Kent State. We learned alot about our team today and we see what we need to approve on.
Great Game as always HAL9100 maybe one day I will break thru this iron curtain you have thrown up.

    Highlights
Buffalo, NY - Despite all the yards, this was a tough defensive game. The Bulls really struggled to move the ball early while the Golden Flashes blew some great opportunities. In the 2nd half, Buffalo started to get things going offensively and were also able slow down Kent State's Air Raid offense. Still though, it took a blown play by the Golden Flashes to give the Bulls their first MAC win of the season.
