#1 Alabama Spoils Vanderbilt's Upset Bid

The Crimson Tide returned home from the last weeks win in the swamp to face a 2-2 Vanderbilt team that is much better than their record would indicate. The Commodores jumped out to a 14-0 lead in the first quarter after HB Warren Norman scored 2 rushing TDs one of which went 75 yards. But the Crimson Tide did not panic and with 50 seconds left in the first quarter Trent Richardson cut the lead to 7 with his 3 yard TD run. Early in the 2nd quarter Alabama tied the game on a 4 yard rush by Richardson only to see Vandy drive back down the field and kick a 32 yard FG with 2:33 left in the half. But the Crimson Tide reclaimed the lead when when Richardson scored his 3rd TD of the half with a 28 yard run. In the 2nd half the Crimson Tide controlled the ball and the clock as Richardson scored his 4th TD on the day on a 2 yard run to make the final 28-17.

    !Good guys win!
Some of the stats that Pop out to me from above are 0% on 3rd downs for Ark and only allowing 190 total yards of Offense but the biggest is the TOP 21:39 to 6:21. I had a drive in the 2nd QT that was like 18 plays and a settled for a FG. As you can see I kept the ball on the ground running 36x Dyer got hurt beofre hte half and is our 4 weeks. Super Speedy OMac can get it done during that time no problem.
It was a very close game despite the stats. Sabo took a pick to the house (the story of my life in every game) and it almost domed me. We played solid D down the stretch to hold him off.
Great Game Sabo GL the rest of the year.

In a surprise move Bruin Coach Maij sat starting QB Kevin Prince for QB Richard Brehaut, in a win against the Washington State Cougars. Brehaut showed flashes but accuracy, an issue that has plagued the Bruin passing game all season and continues to. The Cougar defense had no answer for the Bruin running game as the Bruin backfield would rush for 323 yards and 2 scores. Brehaut had a great day tossing 3tds but with only a 47% completion rate, Bruins fan are left wanting a little more. Defensively, the Bruin defense smothered any and everything the Cougars tried to do offensively, holding the Cougs to 187 yards of total offense. Next week the Bruins will again face the Cougars, this time hailing from BYU.

    Bruin Game Stats
    R. Brehaut 9-19 177yds 3tds
    D. Coleman 13car 75yds 1td
    C. Harkey 2rec 56yds 2tds
    D. Holmes 4tckls 1sack

Coach Maij on BYU coming to Rose Bowl
" Started looking at tape, and just need to let my kids know that we will be playing grown men. We will be looking to exploit the mismatches we have against them, and continue the winning ways."
