vs 21 - 24 The Air Force Falcons welcomed Cole Copeland and his San Diego State Aztecs to Colorado Springs for a game that Air Force was needing to stay alive in the MWC Mountain Division race. The Falcons knew they were out-manned on both sides of the ball so any chance at a win was going to require excellent play all around. Air Force set the tone early taking the opening kick-off and marching 80 yards mixing in the run, the pass and the option and took an early 7-0 lead when Colton Huntsman caught a 13 yard TD pass from Kale Pearson. But the Aztecs wasted little time cutting thru the Air Force secondary and tied the game at 7-7 on a 30 yard TD pass. After that drive the Air Force coaching staff made a couple adjustments to their game plan which ultimately led to the victory. The adjustments allowed the Air Force defense to pick off 4 Aztec passes 2 (may have been 3) of which were in the red zone and this allowed the Falcons offense to grind out to a 17-7 lead going into the 4th Qtr. With less than 3 minutes remaining in the game the Aztecs cut the lead to 17-14 but the Falcons responded with 67 yard TD run to push the lead back to 24-14 with 1:30 to play. But San Diego State only needed 1 play to cut the back to 3 at 24-21 when Ezell Ruffin caught a 72 yard TD pass from Adam Dingwell as he streaked down the left sideline. The Falcons were able to recover the onside kick and picked up the 1 first down they needed to run out the clock and get a hard fought 24-21 win over San Diego State. Later in the post game interview the Air Force head coach stated he felt the difference in the game "without a doubt was the change we made to mix up our coverages, especially in the red zone. Without the 4 picks there was no way we win this game today. They are a very good talented team that is well coached. We were fortunate to win today but hopefully we will use this to build upon the rest of the season". Great Game Cole Copeland
Rams win in a game of inches!
It came down to the final play of the game and CSU was able to stop SJSU at the 1 inch line as time expired. Both offensives started relatively hot then the defenses would settle in and it would be back and forth the entire game. The DE's for the Rams were the difference makers as they were able to force 5 of the teams 6 sacks! Great game maij17 -- not looking forward to playing you with your actually playbook!

First things first, congratulations to HAL9100 on a great hard fought game, he should be really proud of his guys!it took a double OT effort to walk away with the win, both teams were very even across the board, this was a game of possessionsand we were able to make the most of ours
