CMU beats up Eastern in a snow bowl!

Mount Pleasant, MI: Eastern was no match for the chippewas on this cold, snowy day. 52-17 Cmu had it's way with eastern throwing and passing. By half, eastern was waving the white flag. At some point you'd think Ron English would get fired and eastern just cancel their program. Total number of eastern fans in the stands... 1.5, one was a midget.

    Idaho 21
    NMSU 62

The Vandals traveled to Las Cruses, NM and Coach Maij realize how much work is ahead of him, Idaho was the superior team but NMSU had speed in key positions and it showed, the Vandal defense gave up 240 yards to NMSU HB Kenny Turner and key third downs were giving up by the defense thanks to the legs of NMSU QB Matt Christian. Offensively Vandal QB Brian Reader had a horrible day as he threw 5INT's due to an increase burden to throw the ball as the Vandals were down big early. The loss increases the Vandals losing streak to 3 games and the team would need to win out to become bowl eligible with games @Hawaii, Utah State, @ San Jose State, and finishing @Nevada, Idaho has a ton of work to get done. Coach Maij has hinted at burning the redshirt of JR QB Dominique Blackmon, the move if made would be in an effort to utilize Blackmon's mobility in the Vandals Pistol offense.

More news on the move at QB would come out later in Moscow as the Vandals go back to basics during the bye week.

    Louisiana Tech 31
    Rutgers 59

Just when things were looking up for Coach E and the Bulldogs, the team took a major step backwards, getting annihilated at home against Rutgers. In the first quarter of the game, star HB Lennon Creer broke his tibia and will be out for 10 weeks. Creer was the evident leader of the team, and it is unknown how the team will handle the rest of the season without him. Tech will travel to take on Utah State in what could be a must win game for the Bulldogs to gain bowl eligibility by the end of the season.

Rams win a wild one in Boise. Boise had the ball for under 5 minutes and put up 42 points and 450+ yards, but it wasn't enough. Greenwood took back two kickoffs, and the third string running back carried CSU to a win in the second half as the Broncos missed a game-winning field goal with under thirty seconds remaining.

Trojans Hang 42 on UL Monroe

Unfortunately the War Hawks Countered with 49

In a wild offensive shoot out the Trojans fell short to ULM 49-42. The Trojans were able to get only 1 defensive stop in the game and it came late in the 4th qtr after Troy had cut the ULM lead to 42-35. Troy converted the defensive stop into an offensive TD and tied the game at 42 with 58 seconds remaining. But it was not meant to be as the ULM WR returned the kick off 93 yards and reclaimed the lead for ULM. Troy looked to respond and drove into ULM territory only to see the War Hawks intercept a pass at the ULM 20 and sealed the fate of the Trojans.

After winning several games in a row including victories against Cincy, ULL, and NT, the Owls took a step back, losing to Western Kentucky at home.
