    #4 Texas vs #5 Florida

Longhorns grind it out for win

Texas receives. The Longhorns were able to eat up most of the 1st quarter with a long drive that ended on a 10 yard fade pass from Derek Newton to Dominique Jones in the left corner of the end zone with 2:02 left in the quarter. Newton would strike again, this time on a wheel route for a 56 yard touchdown, mostly thanks to some shifty moves by WR Darius White who was able to make 2 Gators miss on his way to paydirt. Florida would add a field goal to end the half. It was a grind of a first half as both teams played tough defense and stuck to the run on offense. Florida would open up the 3rd quarter with a long drive of their own that culminated in a 3 yard TD rush as Trey Burton kept the ball on a well read speed option play. Florida would hold the Longhorns scoreless in the 3rd and add a field goal to end it. The 4th quarter was more of the same, tough defense and conservative offense as the only points scored were on a 32 yard Texas field goal. 17-13 Texas end of game.

    Stats that Matter
    Texas 3rd down efficiency: 62.5%
    Florida 3rd down efficiency: 45.45%

    Texas passing: 11-18 for 174 + 2 TD
    Florida passing: 14-26 for 208 + 0 TD

Texas kicking: 1-1 FG 2-2 XP (long 32)
Florida kicking: 2-2 FG 1-1 XP

AUBURN COMES AWAY WITH A 33-9 WIN VS VANDY

OFFENSE STRUGGLED THE WHOLE GAME AGAIN NOTHING CLICKING, AND A RUN GAME THAT WAS NON-EXISTANT. DEFENSE IS THE ONLY REASON WE DID NOT GET BEAT

    QB PLAY = PATHETIC
    RB PLAY = OK
    O-LINE = PATHETIC

AGAIN IF WE DONT FIND SOME ANSWERS SOON IT WILL BE A LONG YEAR

    BAMA Survives 2nd Half Collapse

The Crimson Tide hosted JV and his Arkansas Razorbacks in the SEC opener for both teams. In a game that goes along way in setting the tone for the SEC West race, the Crimson Tide fans had that strange feeling of here we go again as Alabama raced out to 38-21 halftime lead. But to the credit of JV the Razorbacks made adjustments in the 2nd half and shut down the Alabama run game and began cutting into the lead. The Razorbacks tied the game with less than a minute to play. After forcing a 3rd and long the Crimson Tide decided to play it safe and go to overtime but a first down pickup on a screen pass gave the Tide new hope that they could get into FG range. After a timely scramble by McCarron to pick up a first down and a time out setup the Crimson Tide for a 56 yard FG attempt. The Razorbacks called time to ice the Bama kicker but he calmly booted the 56 yard FG through the uprights and allowed the Crimson Tide to avoid yet another 2nd half collapse.

It was a great game by JV, which featured lots a big plays and great adjustments and one I enjoyed very much.

It was another battle, as all my games seem to be, I just need to find a way to pull it out at the end. Congrats on the victory, and good luck the rest of the way.
