Congratulations... that's a huge win. Hundley, Franklin, and Carroll were all absolute studs this year.

Thx CP, hopefully Carroll will come back next year, will lose Franklin but I have a pretty good stable of backs coming back. Other than corners, everyone returns or is replaced by a proven backup. Next up, is Joe or a rematch with Iowa in the Rose Bowl.

The SEC is Once Again Crimson
    #2 Alabama Defeats #10 Tennessee 28-27 in 2OT

    video

Alabama and Tennessee squared off for the 2nd time this season in Atlanta to battle for the SEC Title and a possible shot at a BCS National Title as well. Early this season in week 9 Alabama fell to the Vols 24-3 in Knoxville and the Crimson Tide knew coming into Atlanta that this would not be an easy task. After taking the opening kickoff the Crimson Tide's initial drive of he game stalled out around mid field and they were forced to punt. Things were looking promising for the Tide as the punt went out at the Tennessee 11 yard line but that quickly changed. On the Vols 1st play from scrimmage QB Nance kept the ball on the triple option and raced 89 yards for the first score of the game and swung momentum of the game Tennessee way. The Crimson Tide then spent the rest of the first half either getting sacked (4 on the day) or throwing interceptions (4 as well for the game). Alabama's inability to establish any type of offense allowed the Vols to build a 17-0 1st quarter lead. After the 1st qtr the Alabama defense settled down and began to limit the Vols offense attack and got the ball back several times for the Crimson Tide offense. Late in the 2nd qtr the Alabama drove deep into Tennessee territory and facing a 4th and inches from the Vol 34 yard line the Crimson Tide opted to forgo the FG attempt and tried to convert for a 1st down. But the Vols stuffed Lacy for a 2 yard loss all but ending any threat from the Tide in the first half and what appeared to be for the game. The Story continued to payout the same in the 3rd qtr until when facing a 3rd and 14 the Crimson Tide caught a break. Coming out with 5 wide the Tide ran a WR screen and Duron Carter broke the initial tackle and raced 84 yards for the TD and with 14 sec left in the 3rd qtr the Crimson Tide suddenly had life. The Crimson Tide then got the break they needed as the Tennessee HB fumbled after picking up 6 yards. The Crimson Tide converted this turnover into a TD when Lacy scored from 11 yards out with just under 6 minutes left in the game and suddenly what looked to be a blowout was once again a ball game at 17-14. The two team continued to swap possessions until the Crimson Tide drive into FG range with 1:32 remaining in the game. After converting on a 31 yard FG to tie the game at 17-17 neither team could get close enough for the winning score and the SEC Title would have to be decided in overtime. In the 1st overtime the Crimson Tide drove to the Vol 3 yard line and faced a 4th and goal. The Alabama staff elected to go for the TD but once at the line of scrimmage the Tide opted not to run the play called and took a delay of game penalty. After declining the penalty the Crimson Tide kicked the FG and took a 20-17 lead. On the Vols possession they drove to the 16 yard line where on 3rd and 1 the Crimson Tide stuffed the fullback dive for no gain but the Vols were called for holding. The Crimson Tide elected to decline the penalty and put the pressure on the Vols to either roll the dice for the win or kick and go to a 2nd overtime. Tennessee elected to kick and tied the game at 20-20. In the 2nd OT the Vols qb Nash got loose again on the Triple option and raced 14 yard for the score and reclaimed the lead at 27-20. On Alabama first play of the 2nd overtime the Crimson Tide saw a opening in the tight Vol defense and audible to a pass and McCarron hit Kevin Norwood on a 25 yard strike pulled to with 1 with the extra point to go. Alabama once again elected to go and take a look at what the Vols would offer up defensively. Looking over the defense the Crimson Tide coaches almost pulled the plug but with 2 secs left on the clock elected to roll the dice and snapped the ball. McCarron handed off to Hart on a misdirection play who was then hot at the 1 but spun and fell into the end zone and the Crimson Tide pulled off another comeback from 17 down and won the SEC Title.

It was a great game by ChaoticUT and one of the wildest games I have ever been in.
