There's a New Sheriff in Waco
Long after Robert Griffin III bailed on a program in need, breaking his promise to rebuild the program and after Nick Florence filled in admirably in an Orange Bowl winning season, there is a new man under center in Waco, and he's eighteen years old. Mark "Lefty" Heinz, Baylor's prized recruit, was the starter from the day he set foot on campus. The sixth rated prep signal caller and an ESPNU 150 recruit, Heinz impressed in his debut. After two early interceptions, Heinz went on to complete 22 of 27 passes, racking up 318 yards and 3 touchdowns. Heinz also proved to be a threat with his feet, rushing 8 times for 25 yards. The future is bring for the Bears, as is the present, as #11 Baylor opened up 2013 with a dominating 42-17 victory over Louisville.
SMU Mustangs 34North Texas 38
The North Texas Mean Green outlasts the Mustangs of SMU in a crazy shootout. The Mean Green scored the go ahead TD in the final minute of the game and held off a last second ditch effort by the Mustangs at the Mean Green 5 yard line. North Texas was led by WR Brelan Chancellor with 10 catches and 170 yards and a TD, he also added a missed FG for a TD. The defense was anchored by DT Richard Abbe who recorded 3 sacks.

CMU over Purdue31-14
Chippewas welcomed Purdue to Kelly Shorts Stadium, and sends them out losers. Some great highlights are in the dynasty wire. Check them out. The game was back and forth for a bit, I somehow called the wrong coverage, a Cover 2 with safeties that are slooooowwwww vs 5 wide, obviously they scored. I was trying to audible, but they quick snapped me. So really, they only had 1 legit TD. It was a sweet one though. They went for it on 4th, threw cross field to the back line of the endzone and their WR soared to get it, and tip toed in. I couldn't believe they passed, they were on the 1/2 yard line. Jenkins went down early, so our homerun threat was gone from the backfield. Tipton, or impact RS SR RB stepped in, and while he's not the fastest guy, he typically falls forward. We pounded the ball with him and came out the victors.
Gopher opener was a tale missed opportunities, as USC HB Dillion Baxter would rushed for 175yds scoring 2tds. Missed tackles and a super stiff arm catapulted Baxter to big numbers against the Gopher defense. Minnesota looks to rebound when Coach Maij looks for revenge against Central Michigan.

Golden Eagles produce a HUGE 4th quarter comeback on the legs of (rs) Fresh QB Derrick Davis. The first 3 quarters seemed to be a feeling out process as Southern Miss struggled at times to find an effective way to attack an athletic Miss State defense, that all changed in the 4th quarter. After trying to get to the corner all game long Southern Miss was able to spread out the defense and the rest was history, freshman history. Davis had his coming out party rushing 15 times for 89 yards and 4 score (2 in the 4th quarter) providing a much need spark late, while AA Kendrick Hardy proved he can be the work horse rushing 18 times for 119 + score. The Golden Eagles defense left something to be desired as they continue to have a problem giving up the big play. Next week Southern Miss takes on a talented Fresno State squad and it should tell Coach ChaoticUT exactly where this young, inexperienced team stands.
And he's 1-0
Same here, should be interesting to see these 2 progress (mines a RS Fresh)
Heinz clearly is the better prospect... and he's a year behind!
Sdsu Will be kicking off in about an hour.
Louisiana Monroe opened up its season with a loss, but the offense showed definite signs of talent with new offensive coordinator Coach E under the helm. QB Kolton Browning threw for 215 yards and added 85 yards and 2 TD on the ground. IF the Warhawk offense can make some stops, this team can definitely win some games. Up next for the Warhawks are the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs, Coach E's former team.
Trojans Open Season with Win Over UAB
The Trojans opened up their 3rd season under coach uagrad vs in state rival UAB. Troy dominated this game from start to finish as they lead 31-3 at the half. The Trojans used a nice balance of run and pass as they moved against the Blazers at will. The only thing that stopped the Trojans was another transfer failed error. This error resulted in a super sim win of 38-7. Next up for the Trojans is SEC power, the Florida Gators.
Disappointment in Fresno
Well the season starts with a very tough loss to #20 UGA. After starting off 14 points down because a fumble returned for a TD and a nice drive. Fresno Dug down and grabbed a pair and went into the half down 21-14. Skip ahead to the 4th.Down 14 heading into the last QT of play we come out on fire and score then with under 2 min left we score again and again showing out man hood go for 2 and the win and get it. 29-28 with 1:30 left. UGA gets the ball back and starts driving. We get them to 4th down and 9 and they connect on a pass the sets them up with a 1st down inside the 20. We loose on a last sec FG.
Lesson Learned. Coach Limbo new not to give them the ball back with to much time on the clock but again could not resist the scoring opportunity and poked the ball in to soon. It would have been simple to run time off the clock and not give them time to put a drive together.

13-0In a battle of defenses SDSU was able take out #7 ranked Nebraska. My DT dominated the game like former Cornhusker Suh, he as as able to get 4 sacks and dominate the O line. On offense you could tell it was the first game of the season because we couldn't get anything going and came up short on a lot of drives but thankfully our defense won it for us. No stats or highlights saved because it locked up on exit.
