Solid win for the Bruins, as Coach Maij is getting more comfortable in the new offensive scheme. Hundley had a sufficeint day, was not asked to do very much, Bruin ground game would dominate the day rushing for 201yds on the day. HB Jordan James lead all rushers filling in for an injured Malcom Jones with 118yds. UCLA defense would be tested often by ASU, and had lots of trouble with the Sun Devil spread running attack, Fr CB Eric White would intercept a botched pitch by the ASU QB and return it for 6 locking up the game, after a great ASU drive to score. Bruins look to continue the winning ways with a visit to Arizona.

    Bruin Game Stats
    B. Hundley 13-18 222yds 2tds
    J. James 14car 118yds
    M. Jones 15car 93yds 1td, 4rec 45yds 1td
    T. McDonald 9ttkl 1FF 3TFL

Buckeyes Cruise To Easy Victory Over Hoosiers
    [IMG]

Ohio State came into this game expecting an easy win against an inferior opponent and that's exactly what it was...or at least that's what it was while the Buckeyes were playing with their 1st string. Knowing that Indiana runs a no-huddle offense, the Buckeyes came in looking to run a slow and steady offense with an emphasis on ball control. Explosive and quick scoring plays are nice but Ohio State wanted to minimize the amount of possessions that Indiana got. It worked perfectly in the 1st half as Ohio State scored on every offensive possession and Indiana had a hard time getting anything going.

Ohio State played the entire 2nd half with the 2nd string in and that definitely opened up the game for Indiana offensively. Fortunately, the Hoosiers had a hard time bringing down RB Drew Hill so the game was never in reach for Indiana.

Player of the Game: WR Verlon Reed - 4 receptions, 135 yards, and 2 TDs in just 1 half of play. The Hoosiers could not stop him.

Upcoming: The Buckeyes travel to Iowa for a huge matchup with the Hawkeyes...and Iowa has had 3 weeks to prepare for this game. A win for either team will pretty much put them in the driver's seat for the Leaders Division. Should Iowa win though, they would still need some help from Wisconsin but Wisconsin losing one of their final 4 conferences games is definitely possible.

Vols escape wild one with Mississippi State

Tennessee was able to escape with the win but it didnt come without resistence from a pesky Miss State team that would not go away. The Bulldogs were first to get on the scoreboard when their QB scrambled but was stripped of the football, but as luck had it, the ball popped right off the ground into HB Derrick Miltons hands who returned it 58 yards for the score, this would be a sign of things to come. On the closing minutes of half, Dylan Favre would show his play making abilities once again scrambling, this time for a 6 yard TD rush. The Vols would go into half down 7-14.

Tennessee would pick up its play and score 17 unanswered points and go up 24-17 with just minutes remaining in the game. Miss State would not give up and once again would make an incredible play as a WR check down, would turn into a clinic on how to run after the catch and go 80 yards for a score. However, UT would secure the onside and secure the victory.

Coach Chaotic on the absence of star RB Marlin Lane in the 4th quarter of the last couple games, "Apparently Marlin has been coming to his position coach late in games and saying he's tired and needs to be out of the game. We have sorely missed him late in games because of his conditioning. Look for that to change next week, he is not coming out unless he is absolutely gassed!"

Well Auburn plays Old Miss and gets everyone some work, we are trying to develop our game play and not be predictable getting ready for Guy and CP! This could be our year if we can pull of those 2 big wins.

Tide Comes Up Short in Defensive Battle with LSU
In a game where 3rd down conversions were the most important non-scoring stat, LSU outplayed Alabama as the converted 50% of their 3rd down opportunities while holding Alabama 37.5%. The Tigers used those conversion to score 2 FGs and a late TD as the Tigers escaped Tuscaloosa with a 13-7 win. It was a great defensive performance by fordtuff504.
