    35 - 42
The Tar Heels welcomed the Wolfpack and their new head coach bbrech0610 to Kenan Stadium in a match-up where NC State was looking to reach bowl eligibility and UNC hoping for an outside shot at a New Years day bowl. With each team bringing to completely contrasting style to the game, the flow of the game swung all over the place all day long. The Tar Heels behind their rushing attack jump out to a 14-0 lead in the 1st Qtr only to watch the Wolfpack passing game respond with 21 points in the 2nd Qtr while UNC ground out 2 more TDs. In the 3rd Qtr both defense stiffened and slowed the offense show before UNC extended their lead to 35-21 as the 3rd Qtr ended. Early in the 4th Qtr NC State once again cut the lead to 7 but the UNC rushing attack was able to chew up much of the Qtr and extended the lead back to 14 with 2 minutes remaining. The Wolfpack cut the lead once again with 1 minute left but the on-side kick was recovered by the Tar Heels and UNC ran out the clock for the hard fought 42-35 win.
    Great Game bbrech0610
