Last Season: (10-3) Overall, (2-2) versus Oklahoma All-Time
Offense: The Cowboys have a great problem on their hands with two great Quarterback's in Young Junior sensation Bryan Johnston Jr. & pinpoint gunslinger Johnny Deaton. According to Coach Gundy both QB's will play in EVERY game, depending on the opposing team will determine how the rep's will be split. Heisman Trophy Winner and Big 12 First Team All-American Wide Receiver Casey Hill returns after a 21 TD season and over 1,300 yards. He will be supported by speedy WR Donte Christensen on the other side w/slot receiver's Paul Bowen and Chris Dinkins. This offense has a lot of speed and should even be more potent with both Veteran QB's. The offensive line has a nice mixture of veteran's and young talent with Left Tackle Kevin Alverez protecting the blind side.
Defense: The Cowboys last season were in the top 5 versus the run, but struggled in the secondary ranking in the bottom 15 in the country versus the pass. This season once again the Cowboys look to be a good run-defense team, but might struggle early out the gate with a young secondary that hasnt played much together. At Corner, former starting Free Safety Jamel Jackson moves over to come help out on the outside. Opposite of him is Soph Richard Brown who will be tested alot by opposing teams this year. At OLB, 3-year starter Shaun Lewis returns and should be the team leader on defense. Lewis will be vital to the pass rush including new strating LOLB Kris Catlin (SR). Upfront Big Boy Dunlap returns and will be the big push for the Cowboys run defense. The Jury is out on this young group once again.
Special Teams: Eddie Neal returns at kicker for his Senior season and should be one of the country's most accurate.
