    Week 6
    Clemson - 45
    Marshall - 27

Tiger Defense swarmed the running game of the Thundering Herd

Marshall Thundering Herd (1-4, 0-2) traveled to Clemson (3-2, 2-1)

Clemson got out to a huge lead in this game only to find that the big play through the air would get Marshall right back in to the game.

Once up 24-7, Marshall struck for a 28 yard pass for a score and then scored again on a 3 yard run to pull within 24-20 to go to the halftime locker.

Clemson found a running game! Using a Freshman and Sophmore the Tigers were able to pund the rock for 228 yards on the ground. However it came with a cost as they would lose Sophmore Freddie Fisher for 11 weeks after he rushed 15 times for 86 yards! Thats when Freshman, Kenny Washington came in and toted it 9 times for 109 yards! As for the passing game, 7 different receivers touched the ball to day for 185 yards on the day and 4 touchdowns on the day.

Defensively the Tiger secondary played horrible as they left receivers wide open all game long regardless if it were man or zone...it really didnt matter! Luckily for the Tigers, the receivers of Marshall had 4 drops on the day, 2 more than Clemson. Clemson gave up chuncks of 73, 47, 23, and 19 yards in critical situations all day. Marshall didnt have a ground game as the Clemson Defense smothered them all game long...the one Bright spot for the Tigers!

    Week 7

    NC State @ Clemson
    Textile Bowl
    [IMG]
    Clemson - 20
    NC State - 14

    Classic Match-Up

The Wolfpack lose a heartbreaker to rival Clemson in Clemson

Clemson struggles throwing the ball going 3-11 for 92 yards. Luckily one of those passes went for a TD early as NC State blew a coverage and left a WR for Clemson running wide open down the middle of the field to give Clemson the early 7-0 lead.

Just as last game the Clemson defense was rock solid against the run holding NC State to 20 yards on 22 carries but were just terrible against the pass! Again the Tiger secondary gave up big play after big play to keep the Wolfpack in the game. NC State was 12-20 passing for 156 yards and 2 TD's.

The secondary has to get better or the stretch run for the Tigers could get ugly!

The Wolfpack Defense was the story of the game as they stayed in the backfield and sacked the Clemson QB 3 times and hit him at least 6-7 more times as he was throwing. There was just no time to get the ball off. The BIGGEST hit came when NC STATE scored their first TD after a hit on the QB caused the ball to flutter up in the air. The DE for NC STATE caught it and took it inside the 10 yardline.

If the Tigers can get better on coverage and block a little bit they may be ok but it's going to take a lot of work!

On a rainy cold day in Clemson South Carolina, Coach Fight'n Hokie went with a new QB and a revamped O-line and it paid off! The secondary looked better after realizing that Maryland was going to find WR Steve Wooten as often as they could. Joe Jackson of Maryland leads in the ACC in passing and threw to Wooten who finished with 6 catches for 134 yards and a score. After the halftime adjustments the Tiger Defense stood out! The Running back for Clemson was a BULL IN A CHINA SHOP! It took gang tackling to get him to the ground and sometimes that seemed to be not enough. After being held to 20 yards in the 1st half rushing. Dominique Burnette of Maryland, who is the 4th leading rusher in the ACC, would finish with 97 yards on the ground. That is the most Coach Hokie's defense his allowed to any RB since his arrival in Clemson. Coach Hokie was it wasnt that we were not there...he just ran over us! We will get better at that in time but right now we have to dance with who we brought! I'm excited about our effort!

Clemson couldn't do anything with Nebraska! Nebraska deflected 13 passes and picked off 3 on the day. Nebraska also sacked Clemson 7 times! Defensively Nebraska jammed every WR on the field and brought pressure while jumping routes all game long. By the time a WR came open it was too late on most occasions.

Offensively Nebraska did anything and everything they wanted to do, rushing for 232 yards and 5 scores and passing for 296 yards and 3 more scores. Nebraska dual threat QB was the key as he was able to get away from any pressure Clemson was able to generate and find the open man! If there was noone open he ran the ball for Huge chunks of yardage. Clemson's lack of team speed and field awareness finally caught up to them as they were in position to make plays but just seemed to be sleep walking!

It was the largest, most embarrassing lose by Coach Hokie in the history of NCAA gaming! Luckily the Tigers have clinched a berth in the ACC Title game! Clemson had climbed to #18 in the country but will surely fall out of the top 25 after this loss.

After going up 24-0 and controlling the game, South Carolina and the CPU go nuts and almost make an incredible comeback! Suddenly after Clemson scored to go up 24-0 South Carolina couldnt be stopped making amazing throws and catching, breaking tackles and then scoring! After the score to make it 24-6 they go for 2 and get it...then the onside it...it happened so fast Clemson didnt have a chance at recovering!

South Carolina again went down the field making throws, breaking tackles, making double and triple team catches to score and go for 2 and again the got it to make the score 24-16.

FINALLY, the Tigers snatch the onside kick and take a knee to win 24-16!

    Good Grief! LOL

The lack of team speed, awarness and over all athleticism showed it evil head today as Clemson controlled the game with 27 1st downs and 16 minutes of clock. They were inside the 15 yardline of UVA 3 times and came away with nothing but 3 turnovers.
UVA on the other hand had the big play all game long!

Coach Hokie after the game said, "We gave this game away! Take nothing away from UVA but we knew what they were doing the entire game but the guys we have in this locker room currently are not at the level UVA's are. They out ran us every where today. We will be better...this is just a step in the right direction. We will wait for our bowl game and work on some things and hopefully all the kids across the nation will want to be a part of something special in Death Valley.

    SAME OLE SONG AND DANCE!
Clemson takes a Butt Whooping in Atlanta 48-19

Clemson fell down 14-0 when Florida picked off a pass after Clemson had drove down the field. It would be just one of 4 on the day. Both of Florida early possessions were the same story. Clemson just doesn't have the speed to run with anyone! Florida ran by Clemson all game long.

Clemson drove down the field again but couldn't get in the end-zon and had to settle for a FG to make it 14-3. On the kickoff, Clemson finally got a break! Florida fumbled the kickoff and Clemson recovered and score to make it 14-10 with about a minute to go before halftime.

Clemson held Florida to a 3rd and long and went to the 326 Defense and out of nowhere the CLemson DB just fell down, leaving a wide open WR who made the catch and out ran everyone to the endzone for the 21-10 halftime lead.

Clemson came out after halftime and nothing had change. They would drive down the field and have to settle for a FG. All game long the Gators were in the backfield. Clemson could not run the ball due to being tackle almost when the ball was being handed off. Clemson had huge running lanes but the Tiger running backs are slow, they were caught from behind most of the game before they could get up field. The Gator defense was also all over the Clemson QB, as he was either sacked or hit as he threw.

With the score 21-13, Florida drove down the field and Clemson forced them to kick a FG and missed! On the very next play for Clemson, a huge rush came as the ball was thrown and the second INT of the day gave Florida the ball right back. 3 plays later it was 28 - 13 Gators!

Clemson drove all the way down the field and got inside the Florida 10 yard-line but couldn't get a a 1st down and handed the ball over on downs. Clemson finally made the Gator punt and give the ball back. When they got the ball back they drive down the field again and this time stuck it in from 16 yards out but the 2pt attempt failed.

Florida took the ball after the kickoff and on their 2nd play ran right up the middle through everyone and broke at least 4 tackles and outran all the Tigers to the end-zone to put Florida up 41-19. When Clemson got the ball back they tried another pass, all the WR were being jammed and the rush came hard and fast...YEP...another INT! Florida didnt take a knee either they took the ball down the field and scored again with no time on the clock to win 48-19!

SO OVER THIS! Slowest Clemson Team Ive ever seen on the game...Terrible! Glad Its over! LOL
