Coach E shocked Virginia, the ACC, and the NCAA when he decided to come back for his 3rd season as head man of the Cavaliers, signing a new three year deal worth $2.1 million per year. He had offers from Michigan State, South Carolina, and Oregon State, but felt Virginia is and will be the place for him in the future. In his first two year tenure as head Coach of the Cavaliers, Coach E is an astonishing 27-1, within 2 ACC Titles, a BCS Title, and an Orange Bowl Victory. The Cavaliers have a VERY young team this year, they will graduate only 1 starter on defense and 4 on offense. Although this may be a rebuilding year, be certain that Virginia is still looking for a BCS Bowl berth.

In Week 3 against Mississippi State, the Cavaliers lost the NCAA's #1 rusher, Sam Parker, for the rest of the season due to a broken collarbone. Johnathan Ernst will have to step in and take over the role of lead back for the Cavaliers.

Recruits on Both Sides of the Ball Choose the Cavaliers

Virginia is pleased to announce two signings today. Kyle Wilson (#14 G) and Mike Smith (#54 TE). Both are sure to get the chance to play as true Freshman in Charlottesville next season.

The Cavaliers have used up 10 of their 11 scholarships. It looks as if Chris Thomas, a 3* Defensive End out of Adamsville, Alabama will be the final recruit inked by the cavaliers. This will leave them with 5 4* and 6 3* recruits at the end of the season. At 8-0, the Cavaliers face a very very tough road ahead in their hopes of a BCS Title.
