The Gophers would bounce back from a sim loss to the Hurricanes by dominating the Bearcats. Minnesota would show what Big Ten football was all about rushing for more than 200 yards holding the ball for over 18 minutes. The Gopher backfield which Coach Maij runs by committee, consist of a trio of talented backs Seniors Donnell Kirkwood, Devon Wright, and super sophmore J.T. Mitchell.

In a shootout that would keep the crowd thrilled, Minnesota would show some defense in the fourth to pull away from an offensive juggernaut in the Baylor Bears. The 4th would be the only quarter the Bears would not score in and it would be the difference. Minnesota would use the multiple talents of Sr. wide receiver and returner Marquise Hill to stretch the field and keep pace with the Bears offense. Hill would amass over 350 total yards of offense and 4tds in the victory for POTG honors.

    Player of the Game
WR Marquise Hill - 372 total yards, 4tds

Joe Pa and those bastards out East cheated me out a damn win, the Gophers secondary playing decent against a high power passing offense, basically crap themselves in the 4th giving away 20 points, Coach Maij has benched all their asses for the 1st against Wisconsin.

Also in a statement to the Daily Gopher, Coach Maij was heard pleading to all unsigned defensive backs in the nation. "If you can bring the wood, and not scared of man coverage, we have a home for you in Minneapolis!!!!"

The Daily Gopher also reported that 6'3'' defensive back Christian Reese from Highland Park, Michigan signed shortly after Coach's press conference.

    POTG: Marquise Hill 6rec 260yds 5tds, 3car 24yds

Minnesota got over the hump, beating their neighbor Wisconsin for the first time in 6 seasons and capturing Paul Bunyan's Axe. Coach Maij did not show up for his post game press conference and should receive a letter and fine from Big Ten officials later this week.

OSU Strong safety is horrible, got him with the corner post combo for the score, then OSU shanked their punt and it was TE middle out of Ace Twin TE for the FG position, and they were up 28-14. In the second half.
