#4 Florida State and #7 North Carolina squared off in a early match-up of Top 10 schools that could hold BCS implications later on this year. FSU struck first when their QB Winston fooled the Carolina defense and raced 73 yards on the option and gave the Seminoles a 7-0 lead. The Tar Heels countered on their next possession when Herman spotted his WR Davis in single coverage down field with the inside position as they connected on a 75 yard TD strike to tie the game at 7-7. UNC extended their lead late in the 1st Qtr with a 37 yard FG. FSU reclaimed the lead in the 2nd Qtr after two nice time consuming drives and appeared headed to the half with a 17-10 lead. But Herman worked the Tar Heels down the field and with 34 seconds left scored on a 35 yard run to tie the game at 17-17. In the 3rd Qtr after Herman was knocked out of the game for a couple plays his backup Freshman Doug Gordon entered and proceeded to throw 44 yard TD strike off the option play action and UNC reclaimed the lead at 24-17. In the final period UNC extended their lead to 31-17 when Herman scored on a 11 yard run. FSU pulled within 1 score with about a minute to play but the onside kick was unsuccessful and UNC ran out the clock for the win.
    Great Game OnIowa as always
