Clemson survives scare by the pesky Green Wave of Tulane
Twice Clemson blew a coverage and allowed Tulane to take a short pass and turn it in to a HUGE TD pass. After falling down 14-0, Tulane put together a nice drive to score on a 15 yard pass and the WR wasn't covered at all, wide open in the endzone for the TD!

On Tulane's next possession, QB Kevin Larson threw to his WR Chad White who wasn't even covered!!! The corner from Clemson was standing about 10-15 yards away from where he should have been and would not go cover his man. Needless to say it was an easy TD for Tulane!

The score was tied at the half 14-14

Clemson came out in the 2nd half and had decided to pound the ball! 2 INT's by the Clemson defense set up the Tigers in great field position.

Early in the 4th Quarter, Freddie Fisher took it in from 4 yards out to make it 21-14. On the next Tulane possession the corner of Clemson jumped the route and gave the ball back to the Tigers.

It would set up a 43 yard FG to make it 24-14 with 3:14 to play.

Tulane didn't quit as again, Clemson playing cover 3 left the WR wide open for a 82 yard throw and catch to pull to within 24-21.

Clemson's run game was just too much however as they were able to get a couple of first downs and force Tulane to use all their timeouts and kill the clock!

    Week 2

Tiger Defense put the Clamps on the Sun Devils
Clemson held Arizona State to 104 total yards of offense.
The Tigers allowed just 8 yards rushing on 17 attempts while containing the passing game for 96 yards on 7-15 tries.

Clemson roared out to a 21-0 halftimes lead while the Sun Devils struggles to do anything. ASU had 4 Total yards of offense in the 1st half. What turned things around for a while was a bobbled pass in the flats by Clemson and the LB for Arizona State snatched and took it all the way down to the 1 yard line. With momentum ASU scored to make it 21-7.

Suddenly with a little life ASU sacked Jackson of Clemson 2 straight times forcing a punt. On the punt, not one person ever noticed a fair catch and the Clemson player floored the return man for ASU. 15 yard from the point of the foul and ASU was in business! The very next play Clemson rocked the QB from ASU as he was letting it fly...the pass fell perfectly in the hands of the WR down to the 3 yard-line. Daniels of ASU took it in from 3 yards out to pull to within 21-14 and ASU barely had 50 yards of total offense!

Another sack by ASU and pun by Clemson gave ASU the ball again. The Sun Devils with their back up QB got all the way to the 5 yard-line and had to settle for a FG after a great play by the DB of Clemson diving and swatting a ball down with 1:25 to play in the 3rd Quarter.

Clemson went to work on the ground to killed the clock and take momentum away from the Sun Devils. Clemson took over minutes off the clock when they took the 28 ti 17 lead on a 10 yard pass with 4:36 to play. On the next possession for Arizona State the Clemson stepped up and shut the door on ASU!

Defensive Back, Stephens stepped in front of a pass and took it back 36 yards for a TD and the 35-17 lead! Clemson added another late FG to make the score 38-17 and go 2-0 on the season.

Clemson will host Miami in their ACC season opener next week.

Clemson survived a perfect storm type 1st half against NC State in Raleigh! NC State rushed for 114 yards and a TD and was 10-11 passing and 2 TD's to lead 21-14 at halftime. After some halftime adjustment Clemson was able to escape with a narrow 31-28 win and move to 6-1 overall and play host to BYU next week. Clemson held NC State to to 13 yards in the 2nd half and were finally to get to the Wolfpack QB in the 2nd half. They would sack him 3 times and get a HUGE INT that set up the Tigers for the go ahead score.

Clemson got out to a 17-0 lead at halftime but it came at a cost as they would lose both their #1 and #2 QB and a Defensive Tackle. Clemson played with the #3 QB for most of the game and Luckily they got out to an early lead because once BYU figured out the Tigers passing game was in trouble the crowded the line of scrimmage and jammed the WR's and didnt allow Clemson anything!
BYU went on a run and scored 12 unanswered points and came to within 17-12 early in the 4th Quarter. At that point Clemson saw the Starting QB enter the game and with that back came the Tiger offense. Along with the offense came the defense. Funny how that works out!
Clemson scored 10, 4th Quarter points to seal the game and move to 7-1 overall. The Tiger will travel to Atlanta next week, where they will meet the Ramblin Wreck of Georgia Tech and the dangerous Flex-bone.

Clemson QB, George Jackson had an amazing day! Jackson threw for 463 yards and 3 TD's on 22 of 36 passing with NO INT'S! The Tiger Defense constantly gave the ball back to the offense as they would hold the Flex-bone of Georgia Tech to -5 yards on the day. Georgia Tech's only score came on a 3rd and long on their 1st possession when the DB for Clemson fell down and Keith Penn of GT out-ran everyone for the score. That would be the only positive for Georgia Tech all game long. Clemson fumbled the ball on their 1st play from scrimmage but that was about all that went wrong for the Tigers on the day as it would turn out to be a long day in Atlanta for the home team.

The Clemson Defense played their tails off today forcing 4 turnovers all of which were forced in the 1st half, which allowed Clemson to take a 13-7 halftime lead. Clemson pounded the running backs of Maryland forcing 3 fumbles and recovering 3. They also picked off a pass to set up a FG.

Maryland would not let Clemson run the ball however and Clemson was forced to kick 4 FG's on the day. Clemson. The FG's kept Maryland in the ball but it wasn't meant to be as Clemson was just too much for the Terps.

Clemson punched their ticket to the ACC Championship as they destroyed FSU 38-3 in Death Valley. A close game turned into a blowout right before halftime when they score was 10-3 Clemson leading but punting. The Clemson head hunter absolutely crushed the return man of FSU and Clemson jumped on the ball with under a minute to play in the 2nd Quarter. Clemson lead 17-3, 2 plays later and took that to halftime.

After the half...Clemson picked off a pass and took it all the way down to the yardline and on the next play scored to go up 24-3 midway through the 3rd Quarter. Once up 24-3, Clemson went to the run game and pounded out over 120 yards and 2 scores for the 38-3 final and the Atlantic Division Title.

Clemson will host arch rival South Carolina next week
