Clemson survives scare by the pesky Green Wave of Tulane Twice Clemson blew a coverage and allowed Tulane to take a short pass and turn it in to a HUGE TD pass. After falling down 14-0, Tulane put together a nice drive to score on a 15 yard pass and the WR wasn't covered at all, wide open in the endzone for the TD! On Tulane's next possession, QB Kevin Larson threw to his WR Chad White who wasn't even covered!!! The corner from Clemson was standing about 10-15 yards away from where he should have been and would not go cover his man. Needless to say it was an easy TD for Tulane! The score was tied at the half 14-14 Clemson came out in the 2nd half and had decided to pound the ball! 2 INT's by the Clemson defense set up the Tigers in great field position. Early in the 4th Quarter, Freddie Fisher took it in from 4 yards out to make it 21-14. On the next Tulane possession the corner of Clemson jumped the route and gave the ball back to the Tigers. It would set up a 43 yard FG to make it 24-14 with 3:14 to play. Tulane didn't quit as again, Clemson playing cover 3 left the WR wide open for a 82 yard throw and catch to pull to within 24-21. Clemson's run game was just too much however as they were able to get a couple of first downs and force Tulane to use all their timeouts and kill the clock!
